  1. Hi Loren, I was able to crawl back under the car and get the part numbers directly from the hoses. These two small hoses sit right below the Tiptronic transfer case and it seems that if you get the somewhat common leak on the Tiptronic transfer case gaskets the hot ATF oil drips right on top of them and the heat seems to deform them a bit over time. They are shown in the diagram below as Number 41 and Number 42. Part numbers 99610621275 and 99610622275
  2. Hey all, Looking for the part numbers for the two small rubber hoses that connect to two tubes that run directly under the transfer case on 997.1 Turbo Tiptronic. I'm attaching a photo the two hoses I need are the ones shown inside the red box. Thanks in advance. (I don't remember where I got this photo. I'll give credit if I can figure it out.)
  3. Just as the subject asks. Anyone have a list of Approved TRANSMISSION oils for 997.1 Turbo Tiptronic? From my research it looks like the Tiptronics in the 997.1 Turbo are actually made by Mercedes Benz (722.6 transmission model). Can anyone confirm this? If it's true it looks like Fuchs Titan ATF 4134 might be a good choice because it has Mercedes 236.14 approval. Any insight anyone might have? Thanks in advance.
  4. Old thread but bumping this up bc I am having similar issue. 05 Cayenne Turbo is making a tapping sound mainly on deceleration (when I let off throttle) at lower speeds. Sound seems to be coming from passenger side front wheel area, happens when driving straight ahead. Seems to be quieted by application of brakes or driving in lower height with air suspension. About 2 years ago I did the "Jimi fix" on the cardan shaft center support and that is still intact. Sounds like it could be drive shaft related but doesn't really sound like it's coming from center of truck. Not seeing any visual damage to driveshafts or CV shafts/joints at wheels. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  5. A few years ago I installed a set of lowering links on my CTT. I'd like to adjust them back to stock lengths. Does anyone have a stock link available to measure from center to center what the length should be stock? Thanks in advance!
  6. Just in case anyone stumbles on this thread in the future, I was able to locate a document that specifically states the Shell SPIRAX S5 ATE 75W-90 (new name for "Shell Transaxle") is Approved by Porsche... I have also attached a pdf of the entire document... shell_spirax_product_family_brochure.pdf
  7. Thanks Loren! So as long as they're both Coupes I should be good as far as fitting. My original seats are draped (supple leather) and I recently bought a beautiful set of OEM factory black painted hard back Sport seats. Looking to change my rear seats to non-draped/non-supple. Do you know if ... For the leather itself,(specifically black leather) is there any different type of leather or is all 996 black leather the same grain/texture/finish? Thank again!
  8. Does any one know if the rear seats from a standard body car will fit in a wide body? I thought they would all be the same but after a bit more research it seems they are not the same. Cam anyone confirm? Thanks in advance!
  9. Hey guys,I have found quite a few threads regarding the Porsche approved gear oils for 6MT and the front diff. But I want to verify if there is a current or updated list that someone could post up?If I'm not mistaken Mobilube PTX is one of the approved oils but I have read a few threads that mention a Shell gear oil as well. I believe it was called Shell Transaxle 75w-90 but I think the name has been changed to Shell Spirax S5 ATE 75w-90.I am getting ready to order a 20 liter container of Shell Spirax S5 ATE 75w-90 and I'd just like to make sure it is Porsche approved for our manual trans and front diff. Thanks in advance!BTW I've attached a pdf of the datasheet for the Shell Spirax S5 ATE and a small screenshot below of where it states that it was previously called Shell Transaxle. 4_SPIRAX_S5_ATE_75W-90.pdf
  10. Hey guys, Back in April (2015) I posted about a black 03 GT2 that was going to be auctioned in Barret Jackson. It went for $82,500 as some of you know. Link to that old thread: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/48291-gt2-on-barrett-jackson-todaylive-on-discovery-ch/#entry266406 Well now a very similar (at first I thought it was the same car with it's original wheels swapped back on, but the VIN's are not the same) black 2003 GT2 will be auctioned by Auctions America on July 18. They are estimating $110,000 to $140,000. Will be VERY interesting to see if this estimate is reached! Would be awesome for current 996 GT2 owners. Not so good for those looking to buy a 996 GT2 at the moment..Lol... I don't think it could possibly hurt 996TT owners since at least it is showing some respect for the platform as a whole ;) Anyway, just a heads up to those that might be interested. Also, I am not in any way affiliated with either of these cars. (though I wish I was, lol). Link to docket listing: http://www.auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm?SaleCode=CA15&ID=r0061&Order=runorder&feature=&collection=&grouping=&category= Couple pics:
  11. It got $75,000 (looks it the actual total selling price with fees was $82,500 according to Barret-Jackson website)...came up during a commercial and then they were showcasing another car while it was selling. Luckily I was able to watch it on my PC.
  12. Not sure if someone may have posted this already but figured I'd throw it up... http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2003-PORSCHE-911-GT2-184415 Live coverage starts at 2pm eastern. I'm curious what it will sell at. No reserve You can also stream the auction live at Barret Jackson website. The GT2 may or may not come up before they start broadcasting at 2pm on Discovery channel. Auction started at 11 am eastern.
  13. Hi Guys, I am thinking about having a steering wheel custom upholstered for my 2005 CTT. Rather than have my stock one re-done I think I would rather buy a used one to have re-done (then put away my stock wheel). Is it possible to visually tell without the airbag on the wheel if it has HEAT? is there a way to tell by the part number on the sticker on the wheel? I am looking at 2 different steering wheels that have the following numbers on them: 7L5419091S/5Z3 and 7L5419091K/5Z3 Thank you in advance for any information and/or guidance!
  14. Just rigged up some test lights using regular 12v bulbs and it appears the problem was at the trailer's 4 pin connector. I got everything to work properly with the test lights.
  15. Hey guys, My 05 CTT came with factory hitch and wiring, it also has a brake controller mounted under the dash (installed at P dealer by previous owner). My trailer has no brakes and uses a 4 pin light plug so I purchased a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter locally. When I plug the trailer lights in I only get a continuously flickering light from the passenger side trailer light. Nothing else lights up. I also have a small "trailer light tester" which has 3 LED's on it one is labeled TAIL the others LT and RT. When I plug this tester in I get all three LEDs flickering continuously. I am guessing this tester does not work properly because it uses LEDs and does not create enough resistance. I have tried searching quite a bit and there are a lot of trailer light threads but I'm still not sure what I should try next to trouble shoot this. I have tested the trailer lights on there own and they are working but when I plug them into the truck I have no luck. I have attached a photo of my 7 to 4 adapter as well as the tester. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  16. No issues so far with my CTT air suspension (nor any issues with the entire truck actually!!)... I think I've read a couple threads where the most common issue with air suspension is simply that the compressor may eventually need to be rebuilt and I think the kit is around $150 or so.
  17. I agree with the others, any gain from a tune on a non-turbo would be minimal. If you are looking for sound then just do the e xhaust.I have Fabspeed sec cat bypass, makes my ctt a touch louder and not really noticable at all on highway...however I think on non-turbo the sec bypass would probably be louder since the turbos will not be there to quiet it down from the get go.
  18. Great info! I assume you are doing this with a Durametric Professional kit? My understanding is that you cannot make changes with the Enthusiast kit? Thanks!
  19. If you have an upsolute dealer locally, I don't think you'd have to mail it away. Not sure if they have to solder in a chip on the Cayenne either or if they just hook up and flash it. I spoke to them about cost and turn around time only. I will ask about exactly how they do it as well.
