  1. As some remember maybe I had continuous fault codes with the camshaft sensor/ actuator. Timing on one bank not like it must be. I changed the sensors on the backside of the bank with no result. I was very close now to change the magnetic sensor in the front.

Today I unwrapped all the isolation material. What i found very common already with my engine. Everywhere briggle and broken wires.

Everybody with continuous faut codes should really check the wiring in the engine room. Now after 10 year almost everything in a very bad condition.

Keep it for at least another year to get some money out of your time and repairs.  Also good to see after a year if the next Gen Cayenne has any problems although sometimes we know they don't show up for a couple of years.

Yes you are right Mark. I will keep it for a while and try to improve the technical status and performance without spending thousands.

    At least a try.

we just have now IAA in Frankfurt. We went there to see whats new.  The Cayenne looks nice. Inside already like a space shuttle. Lots of high tech . The backside from the car is nice. Front looks like Macan. But the price. OMG

Glad you solved the problem Thomas. Are you going to buy the new one anyway? Looks nice!

Hi! Yes its a good feeling to have solved the problem. I hope will last for some time.

But there are always some other things to do as you know. My brake discs in the front are going to the end. The sway bar bushings making noises...

i feel pity to sell the car after all the time and money i spend. What i know for shure is that i will sell my old CS with the knocking engine.

The new Cayenne looks very good but: i will not spent 110.000 EUR for a car. Definitely not

  4. after 2500 km to the seaside and back.

    no overboost codes anymore.

the car is shifting in a different way what makes me believe that any kind of leaks are having impact of the shifting process.

some small hesitation when i go to WOT.  Who knows what this is again.

Some performance problems. Really hard to get the fully loaded car crossing the 250 km/h level.

And of course lots of oil. Jesus when i drive it hard its using more oil than petrol.

Congratulations on finally fixing that problem. A lot of work but you've fixed a lot of weak points which will contribute to long term reliability.  I can't remember, do you have stock air filters?  A more open filter can let some of the intake and/or Turbo whistling noise through.

Hi Mark. Thank you for congrats. Maybe i could do it more quickly if i had more time to work on the car.

Yes you are right. Going a little bit more deep inside i found many many weak parts . Some are repaired by the previous owner but in a very unprofessional way. Lesson: never buy a car with italien registration. You dont know for shure if the service books are not cooked in some way.

I an using stock air filters. The noise occurs first time when i worked under the car to change some tubes.
