Yes if you have a garage maybe really a good advice. Specially this turbo engines getting so hot
-
As some remember maybe I had continuous fault codes with the camshaft sensor/ actuator. Timing on one bank not like it must be. I changed the sensors on the backside of the bank with no result. I was very close now to change the magnetic sensor in the front.
Today I unwrapped all the isolation material. What i found very common already with my engine. Everywhere briggle and broken wires.
Everybody with continuous faut codes should really check the wiring in the engine room. Now after 10 year almost everything in a very bad condition.

Since how many miles / km you are running with this "problems"?
-
Just a sidenote from my side.
i was / I am facing same issues already long time. Same as described above. Water pump changed, thermostat changed. Still the same.
Thats why I recommend to do a professional refill of coolant. This engine is well known for keeping some air pockets and only vacuum refill can solve this. IMO

Cool. In the US they care about customers. Here in their home country the don't.

I am having this too. Without overfilling the level. Its only at the drivers side. I believe its coming from the turbo in my case

My regards to belgium. No there is no leak. No spots, no fuel smell.
Yes thats amazing consumption. But its real.
I have to add this old Cayenne has a scored cylinder no. 6. Already 4 years. Was always running with noises but usual consumption of 13 /14 liter per 100 km.
its still running good. Not like new but almost ok. No crazy smoke.
-
Temperatur range which is totally normal. No reason to worry

I am going to prepare my old S for sale. My son was driving with the car from time to time just not to have the problem with a empty battery. He told me some weeks ago the cars fuel consumption is crazy high. Today i drive a litte bit an really the consumption is very very high. Approximately 45 liter / 100 km. This is crazy. What could happend here? Any idea?

Keep it for at least another year to get some money out of your time and repairs. Also good to see after a year if the next Gen Cayenne has any problems although sometimes we know they don't show up for a couple of years.
Yes you are right Mark. I will keep it for a while and try to improve the technical status and performance without spending thousands.
At least a try.
we just have now IAA in Frankfurt. We went there to see whats new. The Cayenne looks nice. Inside already like a space shuttle. Lots of high tech . The backside from the car is nice. Front looks like Macan. But the price. OMG

Top! Good feeling to drive with confidence right?! The car looks nice with the wheels!

Glad you solved the problem Thomas. Are you going to buy the new one anyway? Looks nice!
Hi! Yes its a good feeling to have solved the problem. I hope will last for some time.
But there are always some other things to do as you know. My brake discs in the front are going to the end. The sway bar bushings making noises...
i feel pity to sell the car after all the time and money i spend. What i know for shure is that i will sell my old CS with the knocking engine.
The new Cayenne looks very good but: i will not spent 110.000 EUR for a car. Definitely not

Repaired but i found it really difficult to fix this. To place this spring on the right place. Very tight everthing. Cleared codes and testdrive. Everything ok. I am again suprised how different the shifting is working without a boost or vacuum leak

Codes cleared, you did a highspeed run down the A3 or A5 and all is well?????
Mark knows the german highways
yes you can run very fast there but now lots of road construction and holiday traffic. I will repair on weekend and make a test drive

its like a very bad joke. Just wrote my message and after drove to grocery shop. Very short part highway. Guess what. Yes. Overboost. This is impossible
Reason found. The clip which is fixing the small metal boost hose with the turbo housing became loose. Hose wasnt fitted very tight than. Big leak.

Check the wiring. I had several wires with bad and briggle isolation. When it gets very hot the wiring is very soft and maybe they touch each other and problems occure.

Is this the correct part that I need for the Bosch sensor, and is this a fair price?

after 2500 km to the seaside and back.
no overboost codes anymore.
the car is shifting in a different way what makes me believe that any kind of leaks are having impact of the shifting process.
some small hesitation when i go to WOT. Who knows what this is again.
Some performance problems. Really hard to get the fully loaded car crossing the 250 km/h level.
And of course lots of oil. Jesus when i drive it hard its using more oil than petrol.

I can't remember, do you have stock air filters? A more open filter can let some of the intake and/or Turbo whistling noise through.
Hi Mark. Thank you for congrats. Maybe i could do it more quickly if i had more time to work on the car.
Yes you are right. Going a little bit more deep inside i found many many weak parts . Some are repaired by the previous owner but in a very unprofessional way. Lesson: never buy a car with italien registration. You dont know for shure if the service books are not cooked in some way.
I an using stock air filters. The noise occurs first time when i worked under the car to change some tubes.

I just connected my icarsoft code reader and there is NO OVERBOOST code! So fortunately the repair of both pressure lines must have cleared the boost leak in some way. The whistle sound still there but for now i am almost satisfied.
Turbo / MAF replacement, Oil found

Maybe the colour of the plugs has something to do with my oil consumption which is pretty high when I am pushing the car.
