  1. I had a 60K service done on my car recently and they had overfilled the engine oil by 1 tick on the electronic indicator and about 1/8 of an inch on the dip stick. I have driven the car about 100 miles with this condition until they drained the oil out to the correct level. In your opinion, what damage has this done? Thanks
  2. Well, I got my car back from Overseas Service Haus. Since I never been there, I asked to see all the replacement parts and they showed them to me and it appeared that they did a good job. I asked about the transmission and Bill said he replaced the transmission oil and filter. Is this right on a 6-speed manual transmission? My total bill comes to $834 including the 10% discount, tax and shop fees. Let me know if you are planning to take your car there, because they said if I refer someone, then they will do the oil change for the cost of the oil (about $65). BTW, how accurate is the oil check meter in the dash? After my service, it showed 1 tick higher than the top and the bottom marks, but when I check the dip stick, the oil level is about right. So I drove around the block, parked and waited 10 minutes and check the meter again, and it show 1 tick below the top mark. What happens if they over filled the oil?
  3. I have thought about DIY, but are there special tools required? BTW, Autoscope in Plano would not return my call for a quote and Overseas wants to keep my car for 2 days for the 60K service.
  4. Have any of you had any experience with Overseas Service Haus in Frisco or German European Imports in Plano for repairs or maintenance? I was quoted $850 for the 60K miles service plus additional 10% off. Too good to be true?
  5. I bought a '99 996 Cab recently with 58K miles. Had PPI done with "sound mechanical condition". After reading some of the posts from this forum I was worried about all the repairs for this model year. So I began shopping around for extended warranty program and found the following: AccessWarranty.com has a program called Elite Plus for $3,395 for 4yr/100K mile. Is this a good deal? Have you heard or use of this company before? If not what do you recommend? I live in Dallas. Thanks
