  1. Check the sound of this exhaust from ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-Box...bayphotohosting
  2. I do believe there is one in what would normally be referred to as the transmission tunnel underneath. Change out your fuel filter and you will see a big difference. Fuel filter is directly under the driver seat but you will need to take out the plastic cover -under belly....also use disconnect your negative terminals on your battery before replacing the filter....
  3. You have a transmission oil leak...gasket probably need to be replaced...or try to tighten up the bolt.....good luck....
  4. When you wiggled the connectors, it locked it in place...just make sure that you snap the connnectors evrytime you chage the spark plugs...you'll hear and feel it snap...
  5. I wondered about that but not sure where to look for it,. The engine mount is right behind the driver seat? I learned to ignore it since it only happens once in awhile. :help:
  6. I have a 2000 Boxster and thanks for all the replies, I read the other articles here and bought a new reservoir cover /01 and add coolant in there and now it works fine. Im glad i didnt buy the thermostat yet. ......
  7. What is your source of data for your statistics and demographic? I dont own a 911 yet but I will in the future. Thanks for this info. I have a poor man's Porsche but Im happy because Im boxster owner and its paid for. Porsche-there's no substitute. :jump: :king:
  8. Go with bosch platinum 4 because their good for 100,000 miles, I dont know much about the iridium but I know they're expensive...$13 a pop...Bosch plat's 4 is $6 a pop....iridium is stronger than platinum due to it's atomic properties but who cares...
  9. Can anyone help with thermostat installation? I need the location and part number... :king: I want to replace mine due to coolant overheating/boiling...thanks.
  10. Have you replaced the spark plugs recently? if so, check your spark plug connectors...
  11. I have Goodyear F1 Eagle GS-D3 and I like the performance of these tires and it 's good all season tires... Check out tirerack.com..... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...ch=true&index=7
  12. They were both stripped and I had to cut the top of allen bolt to get it off. I finally asked the the guy at Lowe's and he suggested to use a porter-cable cut off tool and it works...thanks for the reply Tool pants!!
  13. I would drain the excess to avoid any damage, but thats just me...I like to follow the manual....
  14. I changed my spark plugs last week but wasnt able to get 2 plugs out because I stripped the bolt for the plug wires cover...the darn thing was hard to reach with an allen wrench and ended up stripping the bolt. Any suggestions how to extract the allen bolt out of the cover without dropping the engine? (not enough room).
  15. Dont forget the check your fuses. I think its E1 and C1... check the shop manual...make sure no blown fuse....
  16. :lightbulb: #1) Are you the only one driving your car? Half the time I get my car back from a service appointment, the seat goes clunk as I pull away. The folks who move the car, move the seat but don't wiggle the seat to lock into one of the many locking positions on the sliders. Once it clunks into position the sound goes away until the next service call. :lightbulb: #2) I have also experienced a different clunk accelerating out of low speed corners. In that case, one of the semi-circular brackets holding my rear sway bar had come loose. Thanks for the reply and i will check the sway bar, im the only driver so I made sure that the seat was locked in place.... :king:
  17. My 00' Boxster makes a thump noise when accelerating, doesnt happen all the time...I feel the thump/knock under the driver seat....any help would be appreciated. :help:
  18. I bought a Texstar pads off ebay for $60 and the pads are great for street use. I also recomend mintex pads. Good luck.
