Hello, My gearbox bearings are going and the whining noise went now to a bit of a "grinding" noise when accelerating or take the foot of the acceleration pedal. I have a M96.3 gearbox (2000 Carrera 4, 6 speed manual) and was wondering if it is possible to put a Carrera 4 or 4S transmission from the later, 3.6, models in my car without any additional modifications. Reason for this is that to recondition my own transmission will be about 2500 to 3000 EUR, but I could get a already reconditioned transmission from a 2003 4S model for around 1.8k.

Hi, Bought a 996 last week and while cleaning the car today I found a hose behind the front boot next to the battery. (picture attached) the hose does not connect to anything and I was wondering if someone can tell me, to what/where this hose should be connected to. Also, looking at my headlight (Litronic) I see these spray cleaners and a "hole" next to it. Is this normal or should there be a cover? Thanks from Ireland.
