  1. Final update on this - I had forgotten this topic. The MAF that I had replaced was obviously not the correct MAF. I purchased one from Pelican Parts and all issues were solved and all HP was there. You know I sold this car; my little girl got bigger and I'm now in a Panamera Turbo - but boy do I miss the 996tt. Was a monster car. One day when my little one is too big I hope to return to the 911 platform. Not rushing that though -- my daughter is already growing up too quickly... I hope this helps someone!
  2. Yep I used super bright LEDs site to replace all but the vanity mirror and the reversing lights. I actually tried to do the reversing lights but I think mine are sealed differently than expected.
  3. Funny - 12 months later and well while it still kinda bothers me now -- I have certainly moved on. :) I am not sure the last time I even looked at the mirror :)
  4. I'd have to agree with UMW's tune -- had one on my 996tt (before trading it) -- man do I miss it. Smooth and very drivable out of boost, and in boost, torque like you cannot believe. :) Switched from GIAC to UMW as Kevin's tune was not just about raw power - it had drivability factors such as torque coming in sooner. Of course I have no affiliation with UMW or Kevin. Just a hope my 981CS will someday perform like that (not likely to have that kind of HP/Torque)
  5. So I purchased my vehicle from the dealership without custom ordering and until my wife recently obtained a new Macan Turbo with leather I had forgotten what I was missing :) Any part numbers for leather dash (black), door panels (black), etc? Thank you for any and all help!
  6. Any ideas if this can be a retrofit adding better nighttime lighting to the vehicle? The non-light design is okay, but not optimal.
  7. Hi There Has anyone accomplished a DIY Oil Change? I am nearing the after breaking and am thinking it would be good to do. Photos and/or even torque specs would be GREATLY appreciated. If not possibly I'll be creating the guide myself (but unfortunately missing the torque specifications)
  8. Maybe part numbers for light design package parts. Center overhead console, outside mirrors, etc?
  9. Thx! I cannot tell you how many times my wife has said how much she loves to drive it. I have to say I enjoy driving it myself :) So far so good on the carefree miles. The known bugs are there (rear wiper fluid leak, alarm, etc) but really that does not take away from the enjoyment of driving. Would love to have you guys join in on the experience. :)
  10. Purchases a Macan Turbo with my wife! It's her DD - and she loves it!
  11. Just hit 2k and will be changing the fluids and getting some blackstone analysis done. As for the noise above4k - worth the wait - AMAZING!
  12. Are the extraneous wear metals in the first lil change? Thanks for the reply btw. :)
  13. I am just at 1000 miles! Still 1000 more to go! Wow is it hard to keep the rpm below 4200! The car sometimes just wants to go (pdk). Any thoughts on the break in period? Does this avoid oil burning in the future?
  14. Just heard from the dealer seems you can use the ones from the 991. No part number right now. I'll post when I get it. Not sure if power is run to them or not though. Could be a real PITA for just some lights that ill probably not use much. Oh well.
  15. Is there a part number for the illumination part (or the mirror) for the 981CS? Also any idea on the difficulty of a DIY install? (Electrical conneciton already there? Thank you!
  16. Unfortunately got : "Unfortunately the Cayman and Boxster does not come with a lighted vanity mirror." Sigh - I wonder what the part number for the lighted version is and how much effort it is to DIY. I am really honestly surprised.
  17. Thank you - I'll do that tomorrow. Love the car otherwise :)
  18. Hi all, after a week of ownership for the first time I lowered the sun visor and opened the mirror and was shocked to see there were no lights there. Now it isn't that I cannot live without them, but really? I didn't even think to ask.
  19. Just purchased one myself - traded my 2003 996tt. Just getting to know this car. So far love it! Will post some pictures after I take some :) (black/black)
  20. Lol! Sorry didn't look at the date stamp! Thanks for fixing it!!!! :)
  21. This link seems to be broken -- has it been removed?
  22. Looking at the install picture where it talks about having the metal from the 2 DIN housing stick past the plastic 13/16 inch - does that also apply to a 2003 996 turbo? Doing this soon and want to have the head unit sticking out the right amount. Thanks for the help!
