  1. Bang Boom
    Last Sunday it was finally time for the first trackday for me and new family member 944 turbo 1987.

    A little nervous before the first run with 944án I went slowly out of the track . Warmed the tires and the car in about 2 laps .

    When I would get up in the pace of 90-100 % as the car begins BE AWKWARD . I feel that the car is completely decrepit like if you turned off the key Böööööööööööö , or not getting any fuel. After Boooo so slamming it significantly. Crackers followed by a proper cloud with BLACK smoke, the car jerks a little and get full power again . To start with booo again . I felt that it came with the curves and the G forces , maybe some loose connection but it might have to be stepped on / off the gas quite fast at track days.
    After the first round I was picking apart the fuel pump connector ( behind the right rear wheel ) and smeared it with contact grease . Also had the fuel relay in the fuse box in order to remove any oxide on the pins. The tank filled ¾
    After the second round of the track where I think the problems came more often and more frequent , eg completely undrivable so I went out into the depot where the car stopped itself from low revs. Started the car after 15sec no problem but the heat gauge show max temp. I go when out on the road outside the racetrack to cool the car for about 5km . No problem with booooo all during quiet roading . Tests accelerating 2-3-4 to 6500rpm no problem, no Booo .

    The car is not completely original
    Reground cam and cam housing . Area951 chip KX400 turbocharger . mahle pistons
    Not to begin with hysterical troubleshooting i now consults you , knowledgeable Porsche 944 people for help to get this nice car on the track again !
    Anybody have any tips ideas, I would be EXTREMELY grateful.

  2. Thanks all for the quick response!

    According to my mechanic so is wheel alignment between road and aggressive. The tire pressure is standard. The car is equipped with PASM (Sport mode) but have no "lowering kit".

    The car is also used to go to work so an aluminum front splitter, don´t i think will work.

    Do you think it would help to install stiffer/lower springs in the car?

    Is there any "attractive" front spoiler that can almost replace a splitter?

    High speed requires good brakes! I have replaced my old against new OEM. I agree the car makes a lot of noise in that speed !!

    High speed saves time .....

    I need your help choosing what to buy.

    I have a 997 C2S -05 that the rotors and pads should be replaced on.

    Should you invest your money in original or go for an aftermarket solution e.g. Zimmerman or a other brand? Brembo is fine but very expensive

    I want drilled ones but should I even go for slotted?

    Are there any brand that have coating btw that prevent the discs to rust?

    Original is 330mm front! Is there any reason to go up in size?
