  1. driving along this evening in heavy rain and my abs light came on. i have swithced the car off and back on again several times, and it still comes on but not instanly. the pump does work when the light doesn't come on when i have applied the brakes hard enough to try out the abs. any common faults?
  2. i have this engine vibration at 3200 irrespective of being stationary or moving. it is not the balancing of the tyres or cv joints. it occures when holding the revs at that speed or wheen decelerating. the car is a 1999 2.5 manual.
  3. hello all, i have a strange vibration at around 3200 rpm when slowing down. the car is a 1999 2.5 manual uk car. i hope this is not a possible engine prob. the car car has done 90k. give me some good news please.
  4. hi all, i have a tomtom one which i have mounted below the stereo. in front of the two trays.i have hard wired it in to the ignition so it has no visible wires. i have even got the porsche splash screen on it. i would like to fit a surround but want to know what materials etc whould be suitable to give it the facory fit look. thanks
  5. you can lever them oout with a screwdriver. they are only plastic.
  6. hi mate, had the same thing recently. took my car to someone to regass the a/c.a few days later it was not cold anymore. anyway i took it to a place called alpineair in london near hangar lane. they are the dogs. they showed me where the a/c condensers were leaking and there and then, they replaced them. in under 3 hours, well worth going to. if you need the number let me know. it cost me £580 but now ice ice cold.
  7. Hi all, when i take my 2.5 manwell out of gear it doesn't return to the middle ie between 3rd and 4th. any ideas????
  8. you can attempt to grease it but the noise will come bck. nothing springs back. it is just a case of removing 3 bolts to remove the arm.
  9. condenser was leaking! had both done, now ice ice baby!!
  10. do the entire arm. i did it myself in half an hour. cost £130 for the complete arm inc bushes and balljoint. noise drove me nutz
  11. hi all, i have 2.5 manual 99 boxster. had the aircon regassed where i work at a vauxhall car dealership. the aircon is still not cold, i hear the compressor cutting in but still no cool cool air. help
  12. Don't you just love it when ya can fix someting AND do it without cubic cash. :clapping: it's good when you know how to do work on a car like this, at first i was scared buying a boxster due to repair costs. this car has needed since i bought it 6 months ago loads of bits and pieces. starter motor, gearbox!!! it's a nice car but if you don't know what you are doing or don't have friends who are good mechanics you'd be financially screwed!! B)
  13. Had a really annoying creaking noise from the drivers side front. got under the car but ouldn't establish where exactly it was coming from. so changed the o/s/f wish bone. whilst i was there, i put a set of cross drilled discs on. i did the pads and discs and wish bone in under two hours. saved a fortune. got the pads and discs from eurocar parts for a total of £180. porsche carge for standard parts fitted about £650. the wishbone was £140. bargain!!! :jump:
  14. on my quest to locate a severe creaking.... it would appear to be the o/sf wish bone bush which attaches to the subframe. space is a bit tight to remove the 15mm nut but can it be done without droping the subframe? whilst i'm there a set of cross drilled discs and pads are going in.
  15. hi, mine did that, came back to the car to see the speedo number illuminated. pulled out the dash fuse and seems to have cured its self. have you now sorted this? if so what did you do
