  1. to ED: OK, so it passed VISIBLE inspection (even with K&N CAI), but failed the running tests?? Yes, the tester wasn't concerned with the cai, the running test was the problem.
  2. Hey Todd, I'll check into it and let you know what I find out. I see you're from Lenexa, I used to live in Overland Park. Do you use Imagine Auto locally?
  3. Is it not passing the visible portion, but passes the rest of the tests or?? I took it to a local smog shop and they just said they couldn't get it to pass so they stopped testing. It's now at a Porsche indy shop getting checked out - hopefully they can work some magic and get it to pass.
  4. I have a full cargraphic exhaust system on my car - which I love, but my car won't pass the CA smog requirement. I have the stock headers but not the stock cats or exhaust. Does anyone have stock cats and/or exhaust available? Help!!
  5. I love the so2a's - tried the ps2's and not a big fan, just didn't have the same feel as the s02a's.
  6. Part numbers are 996-351-980-00 front and 996-352-980-00 rear. They've been used for roughly 500 to 1000 miles. I found that I can run pagid yellows full time so I have no need for these. Price new was $232 (list of $288) will sell for $175 plus shipping.
  7. On the 996 you can simply bridge the seat heating circuit, SOURCE side, into the street/parking/tail light circuit and have canadian style DRLs. The european 5 watt halogen in the headlamps operates on the same circuit. wwest - do you have more detailed instructions?
  8. oem won't work because the air intake is in a different location - gt3 vs non-gt3. you have to go with an aftermarket decklid and wing.
  9. I'm considering a change as well and here's the text of an email I got from a shop I trust. My car's actually there right now getting some other work done... http://www.gmgracing.com/tuning.shtml In terms of exhaust here is what I recommend. Mufflers make very little power mostly sound ( 5-7bhp) Cargraphic $2300.00 High flow cats- cargraphic 200 cell obd2 compliant ( 15hp) Cargraphic $2600.00 Exhaust manifolds help the power band come on sooner and fall off later ( 5hp) GMG 1900.00 Cargraphic $2300.00
  10. front spoiler/splitter with no rear wing = OK rear wing with no front spoiler/splitter = not OK The dealer's right.
  11. GMG - ask for Fabryce or Vadeen. My cars there right now, ask them if it's done for me!! (Brian Vance) http://www.gmgracing.com/tuning.shtml
  12. I just copied this post from rennlist - the details on the group buy: Hey folks, ok so some of you guys asked for it and the powers that be came up with a plan and discount. For a group buy we'd have to get 10 sets confirmed but with the regular price being $2350 plus shipping they've agreed to have me sell them for $2000. The group buy will be specific only to all 996 C2, C4 and C4S cars 1999-2004 and runs from today until April 20th. If you are interested in the group buy please drop me an Email to alex@sharkwerks.com with your details and I will get rolling. Just for reference here's a quick sound clip of what our C2 sounds like in the flesh. Local guys are more than welcome to come and listen to it etc... http://videos.g33kd.net/Shark%20Wer...ilton%20345.mov There's more info and shots here: http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=66 TIA
  13. Sorry - here's a good one: http://videos.g33kd.net/Shark%20Werks%2099...ilton%20345.mov
  14. Supposed to be the best quality around - here's a sound clip: http://videos.g33kd.net/Shark%20Wer...ilton%20345.mov I don't know what kind of break we could get on pricing, I just wanted to see how much interest there was, if any.
  15. Just a quick note on Easy Care. They are owned by Ford but Ford is selling them to a private equity group - Stone Point Capital/Trident IV. They just announced this yesterday. That may not mean a thing, but I'd be nervous about an investment group handling my service contract...
  16. PSS9's are probably the favorite out there unless you're going to be tracking the car heavily then you may want to look at JIC's.
  17. Anyone interested in a group buy for this? http://roadsportsupply.com/IPD_Plenums_Porsche.html
  18. Looking for an inexpensive flat bed car hauler trailer to tow behind my Suburban for track days. Any suggestions other than Featherlite?
