  1. I have a 1999 996 Carrera 4. Oil pressure reads 5plus all the time the engine is running. No idiot lights. I want to diagnose the problem myself. I want to fix it myself if I can. I suppose to start I should check and see if the sending unit has wires attached. Where would I find the sending unit on the engine block. Under the car, drivers side, centerline? etc. If they are attached my next thing is to check actual pressure. Could it be that high? Obstruction somewhere? Oil is not overfilled and is fresh. Can any local shop check the pressure? Where do I get a new sensor, best quality and price if it is just a sensor? I would think if it were a bad sensor it wouldn;t read anything. Ask me about lungs. I can tell you all about that. No really. Here, well, I'm a novice wanting to learn. Frank
