  1. '99 C4 Cabrio 6sp. Black/Black/Black. Great car when it's running. I've had it 3 years and have finally replaced just about every system in the low mileage car that can be replaced. Regardless of the poor financial decision I've made on this car, the smiles generated by my children and myself is certainly worth the price of admission. I believe the last tally on performance, service and replacement parts spent by myself exceed 23k, which was the cost of the 37k mile vehicle when I purchased it. Could have bought a 996tt cabrio :) Regardless, still love the car.
  2. Going against the grain of so many that appear to be 'in the know', I added several bolt-on 'performance' parts this past summer to my 996. I never had a dyno baseline nor a dyno after the addition but I can tell you without a question, the car performs and behaves noticeably better. I went with Fabspeed Maxiflows, IDP plenum, EVOMS intake and EVOMS stage 2-software that my fine friends there dialed in for my modifications. This was after having my entire engine rebuilt so there weren't any lingering issues there. A fresh MAF really helped in my vehicle. Otherwise, I am also running a full H&R suspension setup with adjustable sways and once that was dialed in, I think it made the most impact on the driving experience.
  3. Do a search. :). I assume manual transmission? I just asked this same question a week or so ago. Apparently the answer is yes. The G96/30 and G96/31 are interchangeable. It appears the only real difference is that the G96/31 has an extra input shaft bearing. Gear ratios as well as bell housings are identical. I too am having my 99' C4's transmission replaced with a MK2 C4S transmission as I type this, what are the odds... What went wrong with your current gearbox?
