  1. I have a 2004 3.2 cayenne.

During replacing the prop shaft (thumping on down shift) the battery drained flat and required a re-charge.

when connecting the battery and trying to start the car i got a "brake proprtioning" error, and the car would not start.

having no luck called the breakdown service who tool my car to an auto electrian who attempted to find the fault.

attaching a diagnostic machine i was told it was the ABS swicth or ABS module, switch replaced but no fix.

ABS module sent away for testing came back clear (well the company say they couldnt fully test, needs a main dealer)

But i have been given the error codes from the garage, and the two codes are 0513 and 0524, whilst the brake proportioning error remains on screen.

    currently the car doesnt run

does anyone have any idea what causes these errors, and does it need a main dealer to repair?

or can an independant porsche guy do this?

    any help would be great

    thanks

  2. Have a 2004 3.2S.

Lately I have had a few strange problems and been hearing water sloshing on the drives side when braking or accelrate quickly.

Number plate lights seem to have no live, car sometimes not locking/opening, and reading posts i see that the water drains can get blocked and cause water to build up creating problems?

I have taken down both front wheel arches and taken off what i think are the drain plugs, but no water has been released.

Am i looking in the correct place, and are they any more drain plugs I should look for?

My 3.2S has a turbo kit with sidesteps, could this be covering any more plugs?

two photos, of the wheel arch, drivers side has two plugs which both have been removed.

any help/advise or photos of other drain plugs would be great

  3. I must be looking in the wrong place. I cannot see any ground on the rear light unit.

Today, i looked at the number plate units again.

Checking with the tester i can confirm the light units are both ok as i get a connection sound using the multi-meter

however, when connecting the tester to the two wire on the car i get no reading when the car lights are switched on?

its either bad earth or no voltage getting through..

any more pointers (sorry to be think!!)

  4. Hi all,

New to this forum and looking for some help.

I have owned a 2004 Cayenne for the last 4 months, i recently discovered that when using the rear passenger window switch the window will never go down, only up!

It doesnt matter if you press or pull the button, the window always goes up?

all windows work fine when using the drivers control switch.

I have swapped the actual switch with the other switches but same problem remains, so i guess the switch is not the problem..

Anyone had similar problems or have any ideas ?

    thanks

    Tony
