Good Morning, I'm new to the forum so forgive me for any "unsmart" questions. I have a 1999 Carrera which is not used a lot. It has 21,000 miles. The clutch started slipping on 2nd gear and mechanic figured it would not do any harm to continue to use the car. Long story short the clutch gave way, developed vibration which led to the transmission bell housing developing a crack. Since I'm in the middle of the Caribbean and importing parts is a process, the bell housing was soldered and a new clutch and flywheel installed. There's still vibration at around 4,500rpms. According to Vertexauto in Florida the clutch overheated which warped the flywheel and damaged a seal (?) or bearing (?) that goes on the cradle for the crankshaft, and again according to Vertex there's no other remedy but a complete overhaul. What do you guys think and what would be my best option taking into account that an engine has to be shipped airfreight international both ways? Thanks, Julio
