  1. Hi Everyone,

I am new to forum but not new to Porsche having owned over 15 of them and also being one of the founders of 6SPEEDONLINE. My current daily driver 2010 Pana TT which I now have 120k  miles on. The car has been bullet proof for me up tell this point. About 20k miles ago around 100k I started to get this message that said Chassis Failure. On ignition reset the error went away and would come back once in awhile. I did some research and found out that this can happen in cold climates. The car still drove fine, my advisor at Porsche said this was fairly common as well.  More recently I got  Vehicle extremely low and started notice when the car is off the front right fenderwell was very low. Once car was started it would go to normal height.

Now the front is very low and the front is very hoppy. My assumption is the front air suspension needs to be replaced which would not be out of the realm with the miles I have. Other than this the car runs perfect. I am going to fix it and been doing research on best course of action. I see there is a couple companies that rebuild the front air suspension. Arnott seems to come up a lot but in calling them said they cannot get the bags to rebuild them. There is a company called Rebuildmastertech in Florida that you send them the struts and they rebuild it. This is kind of a pain because the car would have to stay on lift for several days until parts come back.

Looking for the best option. Thanks

I hve the same problem in my 957 CTT but PDCC and airsusp. Works great, I don't believe that you need a rebuild! Have tou checked the level sensor in the front wheels? Before you begin replacing parts give it a try it is relatively cheap compared to strut replacement!!
I don't have a Durametric and due to lck of time I haven't visited my Porsche specialist to pull codes! Check what codes are stored and if you want report back!!!

  2. Hello,

CTT 2008 120k miles with PDCC

PDCC fluid changed 3000 miles ago, along with a line that broke while driving.

The past 2 weeks, the chassis red warning appears almost 3-4 minutes after starting the car. It is not a daily driver so it sits for 2-3 days between drives.

To the problem, the red warning appears but the air-suspensions works flawlessly, I can select any level and the car reaches it immediately.

However, chassis control modes are disabled including sport mode. Once I switch off the engine and restart the problem appears after 2 minutes. Once I drive for 2-3 miles I switch off again-restart and the problem goes away.

Anyone knows what it might be, I don't have durametric and between work I don't have time to visit my Indy!

    Thank in advance,

    Chris

  3. When you say it won't start, do you mean you turn the key and nothing happens (starter doesn't even make noise) or do you mean when you turn the key it turns over or makes noise, it just doesn't get the motor started?

I turn the key I hear a click, 2nd turn the same. I then remove the key, I wait 10-20 seconds and with the 3rd turn the car starts but not easily. I think that yes the starter doesn't make noise to start. It is not the case where you hear the starter trying to crank up the motor and the motor is not starting.

If the starter was working properly and it was a fuel related issue, wouldn't I hear the starter trying on 1st, 2nd attempt? The weird thing is that when the car sits for days, then it starts immediately. If I recall correctly the first Indy said it is the starter motor and the problem is more evident when the motor gets hot after 10-15 minutes of driving.

    Your Input appreciated

  4. I am bit confused because 2 different Porsche Indys had different suggestions to the problem.

My car, when cold after sitting 5-6 days when I get in and start it, it starts flawlessly. After driving for about 5-10 minutes to get to the grocery or gas station the car needs 2-3 turns of the key to start. Sometimes it starts with 1st turn (very rare when hot).banghead.gif

Battery 6 months old, although it doesn't seem as a power problem. When the car was in for a PDCC line leak, I mentioned the problem to the mechanic who noticed it and told me next time we should clean the starter (don't know what that means). He asked 250 Euros for cleaning! wtf!!!!!!!

I was passing by another reputable Indy which is 70km far from where I leave, stopped and mentioned the problem to get a second opinion and from what he felt, he told me close an appointment cause it might be something fuel related.

P.S No boost leak, constant idle rpm, no reduced power or so, car runs great but I am bit concerned about the start issue in fear of getting stuck during a trip.
Car has 125k miles, fully serviced in July 2015 (spark plugs, oil, belt, filters, etc)

    Any suggestions??

  5. Just purchased a 2008 CTTS and the previous owner is running a staggered set up Front:275/40/20 Rear:315/35/20. The current tyres Goodyear Wrangler F1 need replacement and I would appreciate some suggestions from the members here.

-The 1st and expensive choice: P-Zeros at 1250 Euros
-Continental Contisport SUV: at around the same price
-And a guy at a local store suggested Atturos AZ850 which are at around 630 Euros.

What do you guys think? Any other suggestions??

    Thanks in advance
  6.  My question is how much is this car going to cost?  considering you can get CTTs for 20-30k all day long here in the US with real low mileage, i'd be worried about buying a car that has sat for 2+ years......now if it was $10k, that's another story.

You are right, but my concern has been minimized because the cost is around 9-10,5k. About the rod bearings you are right and i am going to consult a mechanic, because i don't have a clue on how to raise the pressure. I was thinking that it might be better not to drive it from the parking lot but instead use a towing truck. Probably I have a bill of around 3-4k to bring it back to its glory.

I am considering it seriously cause CTT's with only 35000 miles are rare now in Greece, imports are too costly and others that are sold are around 18000 euros with questionable service history and mileage.

  7. Hi to all in the forum, I am Chris from Greece and I am looking for a piece of advice.

I have found a CTT 2005 with 35000 miles that a bank sells after being abandoned for 2+ years and not in garage. As the price is tempting and I am looking forward to spend some cash to bring back to the road.

What do you thing I must expect in terms of Service, taking for granted that all liquids in engine and trans are going to be replaced, new tyres etc.

    P.S. probably a conversion to 2007 F/L look is a thought.
