  4. Perhaps there will be an issue when installing the headers with the studs already in place.
  5. Finally got around to replacing it, the mount was totally failed.
  6. Is it OK to drive it like this until I can find time to install a new one?
  7. It's a 964 mount that was used to lower the motor so that the 911 intake manifold would clear the engine cover. It probably holds more fluid. The fluid is definitely not antifreeze since it is oily and does not smell like antifreeze.
  8. I thought so too at first. I even spilled some new coolant on the concrete to see if it looked the same, it didn't. The leak is behind the axle, no coolant back there......
  9. Noticed some wierd orange stains on my driveway the last few days. Can this be replaced without removing the suspension pan? 1998 Boxster with a 3.6 motor.
  10. Open your door, put the window up, push down on the glass, it it moves easily down about 3/4 of an inch, you need a new regulator.
  11. Has anyone solved this issue? Found this in the drain tube. It's happened twice now when trying to open the top. Within the first 5 seconds of top operation there's a loud pop when the clip flies off.
  12. Thanks for the help guys, but has anyone found a way to run this on a new laptop? Is there such a thing as an OBD-2 extension cord or are the pin outs on the car side unique to a Porsche?
  13. My PST-2 works great but the Dell Laptop (C610) is really beat up and I am concerned it will not last long. Any advice on moving the card and program to a new or newer laptop? Where can I get a longer OBD-2 cable? TIA
  14. If you set them in the PST2 config page at the startup screen then they are saved. According to Porsche and Bosch - yes. Just like you would any other hard drive - make an image of the drive. I use a product called Acronis True Image Home. I take the drive out and put it in an external USB drive caddy and then use Acronis to back it up to (file) on another machine. Great info, thanks!
  15. I searched high and low for the other thread and could not find it. Do you still have it bookmarked? Thanks. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=44231 I've been using a Durametric and just today acquired a PC based PST-2. It looks familiar and I've been able to convert the units to US and have read everything in the help files. It took me a while to figure out what keys do what (the keyboard map in the help section is too small to read). How do I save my configuration changes and properly shutoff the PC? The help file says to back it the whole way back to the startup page and then shut the unit off. Is this the proper procedure for a PC based unit? Also what is the best way to backup the hard drive so that I can recreate it? TIA

  17. Did you check the alarm horn (near the battery)? Test it with 12 volts to see if it is working or not. Only other choice you have is to put a PST or PIWIS tester on it and manually test each switch, sensor and lock. Not hard to do but the Durametric can not (yet) do these tests it can only read faults. Thanks for the assistance. Yes the horn is getting 12V, but it's sound is tinny. I suspect a previous owner "silenced" it. Too bad PST2s are so expensive.
  18. I'm still having the issue and the Durametric shows no fault codes, has anyone figured this out? Is there any way to get the Durametric to read the alarm system's computer logs?
