  1. The JB welding of a 5 mm hex socket didn't hold, Had foot surgery so will have to wait the car is in my A/C garage with carpets and seats out and being dried. Will try to use a easy out in the al hub to open the clam shell so I can remove to ECU and send it and the alarm CPU to ECU doctors for repair. the need the ECU and Key to reset the immobilizer. Is there a hidden cable to open the engine bay cover like the trunk lid has?

  2. Got the alarm CPU in rice right now, will check the drains. First I have to get the top into the service position to remove the ECU to send it with the alarm CPU to Specialized ECU repair if the rice don't work.

I tried to Manually move the top, The clam shell drive 5 mm drive was stripped, Will JB weld a 5 mm drive socket into it today. Question can I supply 12 volts to the top control line to engage the electric top control? with out damaging any thing else.

  3. 996 C4 my2001 cab Had very heavy rain, didn't drive the car, but left it in the driveway. Had the alarm go off three tiime overnight got up reset it .after checking out if it was a real alarm, appeared to be lighting and thunder .Next morning all the windows were open and a couple of inches of water inside. windows waouldn't go up, seats wouldn't move, so pushed it into the gargage removed the alarm cpu and in process of tying to dry it out.

what would cause the window to go down?

  4. When replacing the rear window regulator I moved the top manually. Now the top will not operate normally, and the top not latched warning lamp is on. The dealer wanted $450 to re-calibrate the top.

Question; Can the Durametic re-set/re-calibrate the top?

Also can the Durametic set the key "fob" to open the hood "trunk" and allow the horn to alert on fob locking.

    Thanks for the help.

  5. Changed oil took a 1.2K mile road trip after a year stop and go driving in Houston, TX. I noticed that moisture was being cooked out on the drive by looking at the filer cap and tube, two days of non-stop 75 mile an hour, 69 MPH average and 26 MPG per the on board computer. A lot of light rain en-route, had a ball driving, will do it again next week heading back home, may make a side run to KY. Just for the twisty roads, and stop at my brother's.
