  1. westcoaster, the same thing happened to me and it ended up being the power steering fluid (I cant remeber correctly), but DO go to the dealership to have them take a look at.
  2. i've got my 987s lowered too with the carrera s wheels... well, i now have the techart formula.
  3. tmoney, please do take some pics, at least with the lights on. I have HIDs on my car, and have the malfunction light message. I am looking to change my HIDs as I want to change the color of my current lights to a 5000-6000k. I would love to see how your lights look and compare to regular Xenons as 4300k is also an option I'm considering. Thanks and good luck. Alan

  5. Thanks everyone... wheels are techarts 20x8.5 fronts and 20x11 rear. Before it was lowered... notice the difference?? :D
  6. Hello everybody, I took some new pics a couple of days ago, I hope you like them. Alan
  7. Is there any way to replicate the sound of the sports exhaust by modifying the 987 exhaust? I know there was a way to imitate the 986 sports exhaust. Alan
  8. DBLVANOS, you're correct, H7 is the bulb you need. HIDs are working fine. Good luck Alan
  9. Hello everybody... I have a question for anybody that knows about the subject. I have a 987 Boxste S with PASM suspension; what i want to know is if I can install KW variant 3 coilovers (the regular ones designed for non PASM cars) on my car, I know i might get warning lights, etc, but then I can go to the dealer to have them disable PASM. I know everybody must think that PASM is so great etc, etc, but here in Miami I dont need it that much, plus I dont autocross or anything, I just want looks. So, is it possible?? sponsors?? Thanks! Alan
  10. dont forget to post pics and a nice write up of your experience! good luck alan
  11. Westcoaster, I have the same car you have (987 boxster), and my HIDs are 35 watt, you dont have to worry a bit about damaging anything inside your headlight, HIDs run cooler than regular halogens. I see no downsides on having HIDs instead of halogens, only positive things. So, are you buying them?
  12. Westcoaster, I upgraded to HIDs, I love them but the only problem is you get a message on the computer saying "check left/right dipped lamp", besides that they're awesome. You can find a large thread on this link HIDs. I think I've posted pictures here, but just in case I'm wrong I'll share some with you. Alan
  13. Guys, I dont know exactly what are the bypass tubes, can someone please explain? I think they are some tubes that run between the section before the secondary cats and the tips... am I right?
  14. berty987, I tried to find the name you gave me on both, ebay and google, and no matches came up. Also I live in Miami, and I think I will have to ship them my exhaust (?), anyways, thanks and I'll keep looking. Alan
  15. berty987, my goal is not performance, as I stated above, it is sound. I dont wanto to spend more money (I already spent in the car, bought it cash, 20" techart wheels, coilovers, short shifter, got my headlights stolen twice, bought HIDs, etc), so now I just want to spend an extra 200 to have a better exhaust sound... hope this explains a little bit more my situation, with all that money I could've have bought a nice full exhaust, but I'm tired of spending thousands of dollar more into a car that is depreciating day after day, I know I have to pay to play, but maybe I could find cheaper ways to modify the existing exhaust instead of buying aftermarket. I'll keep you guys posted. Alan
  16. Thanks a lot toolpants, I think I'll have to take it to a shop to have it taken a look at. I will post any info as soon as I get time to do that. Alan
  17. Thanks Toolpants, but I still dont know if I can remove only the secondary cats without modifying the exhaust, because I think the secondary cats are just before the exhaust, not exactly inside them... can you verify this for me please? If they are inside I think I can do it. Removing the primary cats and putting a test pipe is not an option, as I will have a CEL. Lets see if my idea is possible, and if it is, I will certainly do it. Thanks everyone! Alan
  18. Fellow members, I have a question, what is the purpose of the second set of catalytic converters? I'm talking about the ones inside the muffler... and I would appreciate if someone has a picture or drawing of the cayman/boxster muffler cutted in half horizontally. This is because I'm thinking what could happen If the muffler is cutted in half, then have the second set of catalytic converters removed and fit straight pipes instead. I think the exhaust may sound very good, plus less back pressure. What do you all think about it? Thanks in advance! Alan
  19. Thanks Fig for your comment! First off what wheel/tire package is it?...second -Dude there is NO way that takes a sudden bump without totally trashing the undercarriage- or not? it is the techart formula 20" package from techart, bought it at the dealership. I have not trashed the undercarriage... yet, haha, just kiddin', the only problem is I cant get into my apartment's underground garage, so I asked for a new spot on the 1st level parking and problem solved. Here in miami bumps are not a big deal, and the few that may be a problem I already know were they are, so I just avoid them or pass them sideways... so that's not a big deal.
  20. x2 One of the nicest 987's I've seen (classy and tasteful) IMO anyway! :) Thanks Fig for your comment!
  21. Great info, thanks, but I too think it is too expensive, but I just love the sound.
  22. haha, you are right sir, I do love how my car looks, and I think that its both, my car is too low and the wheels are too big, thats how I like it...
  23. Hey guys, I've just found this (or is it a repost?), its an exhaust for the 987 and in my opinion I think it is the best sounding as of now. Check yourself and post your opinion. Just scroll down to videos Click Here
