  1. Yes, custom for every car. The schematics always show a fully configured car - which very few are. Porsche simple does not put in wires for options that were not ordered (i.e. PSE, Xenon, etc.). Probably save them a few dollars in costs - but costs them in the retrofit market. I havn't seen anyone ask this question in 2006. Not to beat a dead horse, but it seemed that tpms was not available in the 05 997 as a retro, what about the 06 997S, still looks like a no go. I missed it on the build sheet also.
  2. I am having the nav installed at the dealer later this month, and was thinking of adding the 666 option, but I am also reading the "porsche Cell solution" in the Tequipment booklet. Is that something different from the 666 option, just a hands free kit that works with the PCM, but does noting with the PCm buttons? The photos show what looks to be a treo phone, which I have. If you have the 666 you dont need this right?, but If you get the 666 you get all the buttons on the PCM working right.
  3. Can you tell me if your PSE is the one that changes with the sport button pushed (costs2400). That is what I have on a 997S and I want to do the mods similar to your budies but a lot of parts people say that the gains will be less becasue the factory PSE just is a noise box and I should loose it right from the start to do it right. When you do get done testing against your fiends car, can you tell me if you would live with your friends sound every day over the PSE. It seems that I drive with that button pushed in all the time any how, but I want to try and save some of the $2400 it cost to add.
  4. Loren, your name has come up many times as the go to guy so i amjust going to repost to you:  I am including photos of my sold 996 02 with custom tail and side markers. I bought them off a show car 01 996TT. I don't know the origin but i think they came from europe. :banghead: I would like to do the same on my 997, It looks great on a black car and has a real finished look during the day, The lights still remain reflective at night so there is no DOT problems in WI anyway. Any Ideas of where to start. I would also be interested in the insight of doing this myself. It looks like a custom job, where they spray from the inside, but since i sold the car i cant reverse engineer it. I was lucky to keep the photos. If you can give me an insight of what is used (paint or stain with a dremel and epoxy to get the blacking sprayed), I will start testing on parts in my shop. Hope someone can help. Also is this the best place to post these questions or should i copy Loren at Renntech?
  5. In an astetic attempt to spend more money and make my car the perfect car for me I wnated some opinions and tradeoffs of converting a new 2006 997S into my dream car. It is now fitted with Bose PSE sport Cronso Sleatehr power seats and carrera sport wheels, dimming mirrors and all other options. What i missed because I could not pass up the deal from an on lot dealer was having the NAV, Phone, Full leather and added leather trim that my 996 had. I know the factory cost is much more reasonable then trying to retrofit, but I wnated to see if anyone has attmepted this or could strear me with the part numers i need to be pricing. tne thing i am confused with, even afer reading the buyers guides is what is included with the leather trim package? I figured i could do alot of work on my own but need a list of things I want the leather dash and leather nave siding first then move to the leather door trim. after that I will loke to do stuff that I can handle on my own. Any help or part list woudl be truly helpful. Also Loren if you know of any sustome shops that could do a on par or better mod to my interior please let me know. Like i said this car is new with only 300 miles on it and i am trying to budget it out over the next few months to see what I truly wnat to do. Who knows I may just sell it and get a turbo or GTS with in the year ant then three will always be mods to make that car more mine. Individualioty is my main goal. Thanks
  6. I have the PSE on my 06 997S, and I truly do like the button that makes it sportier sounding on demand, but why no Hp Gain. I have spokem with the few tuners such as EVO, favspeed and AWE, and they also have awsome atermarket kits incorpoorating their mufler. Has anyone herd of an header cat sytem to work in tandem with the PSE? or is the PSE a nover $2400 part that i should sell on ebay. I am a HP geek and want to see what is out there. Plus my car has only 3oo miles so i a just putting a shopping cart together to see what i wan to do in the spring. Thanks for any feed back. Also I bought the car off the lot and now want to get full leather installed. Any help in doing that woudl be interesting. I usally keep the cars for 4 years so for me its woth the extra bucks. It all about making it my perfect car until someone else finds it.
  7. I just wanted to ask a dumb question. How do you get the TSB's. do I ask a dealer or can they be downloaded somewhere. The titles that i have heard about would anwser whether i want to attack a NAV install on my 997 myself or have the dealer install it.
