  1. I am looking to purchase a 1999-2001 996 cab and have a few questions that I'm hoping someone here can answer: 1) I noticed that some advertisments state "tiptronic" and others "tiptronic s". Is there a difference? If so what? 2) I've noticed on the porsche website that all cabs come with the hardtop (not an option). If this is so, when did this policy begin? Do all 996 cabs (1999 and newer) have the hardtop? Not all advertisments state that a hardtop is included. Many thanks for help on these questions.
  2. I'm wondering if anyone has used these books to help during the evaluation of potential purchases? Are they useful? I still intend to use my local dealership (Claridges) to do the final inspection prior to purchase. I'm looking for a 99 or 2000 911 cab. 911 Secrets
  3. I presently have a 97 boxster and am thinking of getting a 99 cab with hardtop and tiptronic. I was wondering if anyone has opinions about this model. I've had just about every problem imaginable with the boxster; blown engine, softtop mechanical, water leaks. I'm wondering what kinds of problems to expect with the 911. I noticed the thread on rms... Also, although I enjoy the boxster handling, it is a bit noisy; road/wind noise especially. I think that the 911 should be more civilized in that regard. Any comments on this would be appreciated. Thanks for your input, Rich
