Please read the Lost Radio Code FAQ "CDR-23 (or later): These radios do not have a security code - that is, not that the user enters. These radios are security tested on the MOST (fiber optic bus) system to see if they are the "programmed" radio. The radios are programmed and recognized by the car’s DME and can only be replaced by a shop with a PST2 or PIWIS. These radios will not request a code when battery power is disconnected." Thank you, Loren. Google led me straight to the forum, missing the FAQ. Fuses are good, so hopefully it's just the fuse on the back of the radio, if I can figure out how to get *that* out. Again, thanks for the info. -

Hi. I sent my 2004 Boxster S Anniv Edition to the shop for some paint. When I got it back the computer and clock were reset. I assume the battery must have died. The stereo does not power on when I hit the power button. Stays dark. Is this a case of needing the code, or is there probably more to it? This is a CDR23. Where would I find the serial number, if that is needed? -
A slight improvement on wellsm's technique on removing the spoiler on a 2003 or 2004 Boxster S. Under the rear edge of the wing you will find 4 small holes. Rather than removing the end caps, you can insert a screwdriver into each of these holes in turn, and press while lifting the front edge of the painted part. Pressing will move a plastic hook (molded into the inside of the painted part) off of the metal catch built into the wing. If you remove the end caps and move the hooks on the two ends, that will work, but you'll find there are two additional hooks in the middle of the painted part, and those you can release by inserting a screw driver through the hole beneath the rear edge of the painted part. You might want to pry off an end cap and watch as you release the end hook with a screw driver. That will help you understand what you're doing and how hard to press. If you press too hard, you could break the hook.
