  1. Loren, Can you send me the DIY for whell bearing replacement MY99 996 C2 Thanks
  2. That is very good information. I know the alignment is out a little, I had GT3 sways put on recently but don't know if this would contribute to alignment. The stearing wheel is off center but no distinct pull left or right. I unfortunately bumped a curb right side where the noise is louder. I will have to get 4 wheel alignment and see. The noise almost sounds like a rub type hum. It does get softer as speed increases. Thanks for the info!
  3. Does anyone know what the service interval is for CV joint repack?
  4. Thanks for the info, maybe I am just paranoid. I have a MY70 911T and it has the same noise but with that old of a car I would expect some gear noise. I have had none of the other gear issue I have read in the previous posts of it popping out of 1st or any other gear. I would hope to head off any problems before they get to a replace issue.
  5. 99 996 C2 I have noticed after 30 mph I am getting a whine or hum from the transmission. It is louder out of the passenger side of the car. When the trans warms up the sound disapates a little but is still noticable. I have recently replaced the trans oil and had no real change with the noise. I am wondering if the wheel bearings, axles or cv joints need attention. I am at 71K and have had all required services done at P dealer to date throught 60K service. Anyone with a similar experience? any help is appreciated. Sorry 6 speed Trans Tom
  6. I have a 70 911T that had a similar problem. It would run and then buck and die. I found it to be a clogged fuel filter. After the car sits for awhile the fuel leaks back into the line and lets the car run and then cuts out. I changed the filter and never had another problem. I had alot of sediment in the tank because my grandfather had the car stored for some time. Hope this helps.
  7. After running the car under normal driving conditions I have a leak somewhere below the Coolant resevoir that drips down the between the heat shield and what Ibelieve to be the valve cover onto the headers on the driver's side. I cannot locate the exact source. Any one familiar with this type leak?
