  1. We are pretty sure it is a 1984 3.2 because of the Fuel injection system.  Evidently the fan housing came from 1980 3,0.  The only question we haven't answered yet, what kind of alternator is it using.  Probably have to dismantle it.  The charging rate is 20V at 4000 rpm.  It is either the alternator or the old voltage regulator that is still in the car tht is causing that.

  2. Just purchased 1978 991 SC Targa.  VIN # 9118211984 which shows as a California Targa.  However, we think the engine is a later 3.2 ltr.  Just not sure what year. Engine # is 64003831 - think it is a 1984.  Can anybody help?

  3. When I bought my 2006 911 it only had one key. Checking with the local Porsche dealer, I got a cost of approx $500 for another key with remote. Doing a little research I found blank keys and local locksmith who can laser cut them. I also found a used key compatible w/2006 Porsche with remote. It has the same FCC ID as my key. Can my remote and the used one be reprogrammed to work on my ignition? Porsche dealer would also have to reprogram mine and the one I would order through them. Going the used route would certainly save quite a bit $$.

  4. Thanks. I did buy an Owner's Manual and PCM book on Ebay which is current for my year. Book and info ib forum hopefully will help.

Unfortunately, the tire pressure plate only shows tire pressure. I have read that in 2006 the paint label was attached to the Owner's Manual or the Maintenance Manual. Unless it is hidden somewhere else, I think my best bet is to have a Porsche dealer help me with identifying the paint code.

  5. I just purchased a 2006 911 C2S. Of course it had no manuals with it. I want to get a navigation disc. Do I have to get the basic disc and update with later ones, or can I just get the latest update?

I also would like to get touch-up paint but don't know where to find the code. No maintenance manual with the car. Is there a tag anywhere else in the car?
