  1. I finally got around to working this out. I upgraded my Durametric to the Pro series and now can code objects. I found that the PCM was not installed but it was still trying to display. There was a setting for the Radio being installed. Just on a hunch, since I had tried many other things, I changed the code to the Radio not being installed. This fixed the codes as well as a few other things My radio kept changing the volume, as one would expect base on speed and noise, but mine kept changing the volume at times when you would not expect. Removing the radio solved that problem as well. Now everything seems to work as it should Thanks all,
  2. 2008 Cayman S. I recently replaced my factory radio with an aftermarket head unit (Kenwood DNX694S with NAV-TV MOST HUR Kit). I changed my oil and hooked up my Durametric to reset the Maintenance reminder. I now have several fault codes, which I believe are related to the display. PSM - C140: Communication instrument cluster (display) Airbag - C141: Communication PCM (display) and C140 Air Conditioning - C141 and C131: Communication gateway control unit (CAN comfort) Gateway - C140 and C144 Communication CDR (display) I assume that since these all seem to be related to Communication they are looking for the factory PCM radio. I've done several searches on these codes but none seem to shed light on what might be causing the codes. Thanks
  3. Some background: I just finished installing a Kenwood Head Unit and used the Kit210/ M.O.S.T HUR 997 module. The installation is not for the faint of heart. I have installed many radios and worked on mods to my previous Porsche's. This took some serious investigation and decoding to see what wires need to be attached to wires in the harnesses. To some extent I was fortunate that the previous owner had an after market unit installed, but had remove nearly everything. Everything works: Backup camera Navigation ( I located the GPS antenna way back under the plastic cowling between the Battery and Cabin Filter) Radio Phone (tried to locate the mic in the location of the factory mic, but proved to be too difficult for now. Located to left of the radio bezel by removing the small piece of dash and positioning the clip under that. Volume and Chanel rotary dials on the Steering wheel multi use buttons. Now the problems left over: The Phone buttons don't seem to do anything. I need to use the buttons on the radio when placing/receiving calls. This is not major but would like everything to work as well as if a factory head unit was install. Again, it seems that the steering wheel switches are recognized, but not the phone buttons. Is this maybe something that needs to be programmed in? Thanks,
  4. My first post on this site. I have been searching on several forums trying to find the location and access for the relays. I've been able to find the location and am just starting to dig into how to access them. To find out which relay panel I really need to get at I'd like to know which relays are in the panels. Found one panel up under the dash (drivers side) which looks like it will be the most difficult to get at (maybe need to remove the lower dash panel to access that one). The other appears to be in the rear behind the carpet on right side of trunk. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks,
  5. I know this is an old thread but thought somebody might get some use out of what I went through. I have been fighting CEL on my 2002 Boxster S now for close to a year. I started with the typical MAF or leak before the throttle body. It turned out to be some hoses unplugged and some going the wrong place. Now I have the P0410 and P1411 codes coming up. I found a good deal on used Vacuum Reservoir, AI pump valve and Vacuum solenoid valve all together (with less miles than I have) and for the price thought I'd try them. I had the same reservations about how to get at them and after some looking at the mess found that I could get at them easily, without removing the passenger intake, by removing the alternator and going in through there. Made the job much easier. I think now I've still got either a vacuum problem or the AI pump valve is still bad, but for $15 it was worth the try. Now I'll just bite the bullet and buy a new one. My pump still seems to be working since on cold start I can hear the annoying but sweet shrill sound from the pump
