  1. Thanks for the information I have found a supplier (see pic) that seems to offer a sway bar that fits the whole range which but its very expensive. There are quite a few breakers with 987 bars but used 986 bars seem hard to find. Thanks once again Dave Collins986
  2. Hi Guys Can anyone tell me for sure if a rear anti roll bar for a 987 will actually fit a 2003 Boxster 986 3.2S. I have been struggling to get hold of one for my 986 and the anti roll bar for the 987 looks identical Just wondered if anyone knows The pic attached is off my 986 anti roll bar which has broken at the joint. Regards Collins986
  3. I have Suddenly overnight got a droning sound from my Boxster 986 s 2003. Its not the engine because the sound doesn't change if you put the car in neutral and let idle or rev it theres no change. However if you let the car coast along and turn engine off, you still hear the droning wining sound. Its happened so quickly rather than built up slowly I am wondering if it could be the handbrake shoes gone adrift perhaps. Any body else had this?
  4. Hi Guys Sorry for taking so long but I have finally found a brake in the weather and gone in search of the Boxster S 986 UK model emergency release cable. The good news is I found it and it is quite easy to access. Basically it is in a cavity behind the rear kerb side wheel. I have attached an info sheet as a pdf with a step by step process with pictures of how I did it. I hope this helps other members with the same model. Locating emergency cable.pdf
  5. Hi wizard Thanks for your help in solving my problem with boot If I get chance at the weekend I will trace the cable and get a photo and send it over to you. Regards Dave
  6. Hi Wizard You're right,I have fixed it. It was when you stated the spoiler and the boot release where on the same fuse because my spoiler has been displaying an error light in addition to my boot going dead. I have been putting new radio in and had moved d8 by mistake. So thank you so much for your help its much appreciated Regarsd Dave
  7. Thanks for the info had a look tonight couldn't see one maybe I need to take the inner plastic protector off, will try at weekend Regatds Dave
  8. Tried it both sides, no sign of cable, I have tried looking for them before on the front of car and they just don't seem to have them on the uk models. Thanks anyway Regards Dave
  9. Hi, that is extremely helpful thank you I will try it out tonight, the battery is ok But I have power failure to the sill switch and key fob switch of the boot, (rear trunk) strangely the front hood is ok and working fine. There is no sound of relays etc, it's completely dead. I can only assume it's an electrical failure somewhere Regards Dave
  10. Thanks Loren I will have a look at the weekend, it's dark by about 7.30 here so it will be easier then. I did have a look under seats but everything seemed connected and dry. Regards Dave
  11. Thanks again Loren I will give both suggestions a try and get back to you I noticed you're in the USA, CA is that California? I'm from near Liverpool in the UK I'm not sure the UK models have the Release cable but I will have a look. Regards Dave
  12. Hi Loren Thanks for help I will check the wheel well and the control box. just a small point when you say left side do you mean the kerb side ie. passenger side. Regards Dave
  13. Hi Loren Thanks for the advice sadly it didn't work but I will keep trying it maybe on the off chance it may just resolve it. Regards Dave
  14. Hi Guys Has anyone had this problem with a 2003 Boxster S 986 After disconnecting battery and reconnecting later I found the rear boot release was totally dead, no actuation or relay sound, nothing either from door sill switch or key fob. Also the spoiler is not working and the dash light keeps coming on. However the front bonnet release is still ok. I have read articles about a secret cable release behind the rear wheel can anyone confirm this or is it just American models. Thanks Fellas Dave
  15. Hi Daniel Re my 2003 Boxster 986 . I have exactly the same problem you had in 2015 with the boot release going dead and the spoiler not working after the battery being disconnected and also the front boot still working. How did you fix it it in the end where you successful. I have been replacing the radio and have a load of parts in the rear boot including the heater control panel which I now can't access. If you can help me with any info I would be very grateful Regards Dave
