  1. I drive a 2004 CTT and upon start up I will get this horrifying grinding noise. My father tells me it's the starter going, and the bendix is extending for too long. I find out that 5w-30 was put in the Cayenne before my ownership, and too my understand that is just no good, so I fill it up with 0w-40 Mobil and the grinding noise is happening far less. Almost never now, how could that be? Was the oil not lubricating a part of the motor before startup and that was the grinding noise. Thanks.
  2. I recently received my CTT and the trim was beyond whooped, very tired. So I picked up a whole trim kit off of EBay and installed, no problem. But I can't find matching door handle trim. Does it exist? I have the textured trim now which I prefer.
  3. While you are up on the rack I would have a look at the power steering and check fluids as well.
  4. Check right side control arm bushings. Mine were bad and on both sides and it gave me a "loose" feeling when steering. Also I had a knock when braking but that was because mine were toast.
  5. I have a 2004 CTT and I am looking to add a trailer hitch. I have read on other forums that it's $1500+ to add one on from the dealer. I just think that's a little absurd. I don't need the wiring harness or such because I usually and only hauling small jetski trailers and my tail lights are fully visible. Are there any other cheap alternates? I have not look under the truck yet but are there bolts in place for one? Thanks.
  6. I could turn my CTT off and let it roll down a hill and I wouldn't get 23. Wow.
  7. How much did your MPG improve? Very interested in something along these lines as I would for the truck to shift better, MPG is at a all time low.
  8. I was saying how the price of a CTTS and a CTT are similar these days and you might as well spend that extra money for that extra performance.
  9. Did they even make a 2007 CTT? Sorry I don't have anything to add, just curious.
  10. I have one of these pet barriers in the back of mine, and I don't have a pet and can't split the seats to fold. So how in the world do you take it out? I cannot not figure it out for the life of me.
  11. Yeah, but for that extra 2-3k you can have the S with that 70 more horsepower and the same MPG, and I believe the S gives you the Sport transmission button if I recall.
  12. With that many miles, probably 20-24k. Given it's clean. An 2006 CTT would go for around 20k
  13. Yeah, I have been leaning more towards slotted, as you mentioned above for the benefits, and I think they look better as drilled look like they have to much going on. I still cannot find a good review on the Stop Tech Slotted's on the Pig. They look good, just don't wanna get into a cheapest made rotor.
  14. Hmm, well I would wanna do it right regarding the brakes, so I am also looking at Brembo Sport ones as well, I don't mind a little noise, and I have a good empty twisty road near by my house that occasionally run around on, and could use the benefits of a cross drilled rotors.
  15. Just did a 50 mile highway ride, got 17mpg at 70-75mph.. I would be floored to get even near 17-18 in the city :wow:
  16. 18 is pretty good as well. Are you saying you have two 2004's, or two 2004 S'?
  17. I know this topic has been talked about over and over, what are the best combs, best rotors this and that, but when I go to do my research I get a guy saying his HPS pads were rubbish and the next guy saying they are great.. My brakes are almost fried so I figured I'd start looking, and I thought I would get a good bit of help from here. I'm looking at Stop Tech 350mm Sport Slotted Rotors front and 330mm Stop Techs in the back, with Brembo Ceramic pads.. I have a couple questions.. Brembo Ceramics.. are not what we get as OEM right? The dust is unreal from these OEM pads, and I was wondering if anyone as had experience with these ones. I'm torn between these and EBC Yellows. Any problems from the Stop Techs? From what I understand there BBK are pretty good and comparable to Bremo BBK's so I figured these wouldn't be too far off. Car is a 2004 CTT.
  18. Congratulations. You're going to love it. Just got mine a month ago love it.
  19. 14?! Wow, I'm looking at Fabspeed secondary delets and hopefully it goes up. Even 12-15 seems high.
  20. What's does your Cayenne get?! Just asking to see what I should be getting, some days I get 7mpg if I'm moving around, and others up 10-11 if I'm cruising around. Don't expect much more in a CTT And what do you get on the highway?
  21. So the secondary cat deletes worked well on the 2004 CTT? Looking to get a pair for mine? Any sounds clips or videos? Can only find them for the newer Cayennes.
  22. Just a update, just but in a new battery and it is a ton better. The A/C comes on right away(used to wait a couple mins) car fires up much better and I no longer have to turn key to the left before starting. Also the remote works perfectly(no need for a new key!) Deff helped me out
  23. Okay, that's a bit dismal, I'll see how often this is happening and how serious the problem is, as my steering wheel does not lock I am not terribly afraid of it. And I found a kit for $160, does that sounds right? Doesn't seem to bad.
