  1. I ran my codes as I already had a light and only got a unrelated code for the motor running too lean at the moment
  2. I have a 2004 CTT and its been very cold lately here in Pittsburgh. Recently my driver door will close, but the car doesn't recognize it as being close. The dash warning continually stays on no matter what I try to do. This is very annoying as the ambient lights stay on in the car and it usually won't lock when I get out. It was freezing and then the last two days it has been getting warmer, but the problem persists. Any ideas?
  3. This is what I was touching on in my OP. How many lines are there and are there any special names for them, or just CTT vacuum lines? Ill try those first and a fluid change then ill bite the bullet and do the valve body.
  4. So what you are saying is that I am just in denial of the valve body? But are you saying you changed the fluid in the tranny and you for buttery smooth shifting? Or the valve body? Have you heard of anyone using any other fluids with better luck? How much to rebuild the valve body? Thanks for your help, its a shame they sold these cars with such expensive problems. Guess thats owning a Porsche though.
  5. I know this question has been asked before, but everytime I have looked i see everyone suggesting a valve body, but have briefly heard people solving shifting problems other ways. I am here looking for a more in depth explanation of other ways to solve these problems. I know the tranny fluid has been answered a million times and I probably shouldn't have asked that. Just wanted to see other options than Porsche recommend as people have also reported improved shifting from better fluids. Just wanted to hear validity on that matter.
  6. As the title reads, my Cayenne is shifting from gears 2-3 horribly under heavy acceleration and in the higher gears a bit and slow on downshifts. In auto is almost not there but in manual it is more prevalent. I know the valve body is everyones first guess but recently i have been doing a little more exploring to see what my options are before diving into a $2,500 repair. I have read that people have gone under their engine covers and replaced a thin plastic pipe near the throttle body that has for whatever reason, fixed the shifting. Also people have changed filter and fluids and have reported there tranny's were shifting great again. I went to the P dealer for what was a boost leak and they ran the codes as my PSM light was on and they got P2189, lean at idle bank 2 and P2281 Throttle Plate. Said nothing about the transmission or valve body. Basically my question is what do people do to avoid the valve body right away, even its just a little better, it would be worth it in my opinion. And what is that little plastic pipe called? My Cayenne is at 97k and this is really the only real problem on it. Also if I'm gonna change the tranny fluid, what fluid should I use & how much & what filter? Car is a 2004 Cayenne Turbo.
  7. What symptoms is your tranny showing? I'm at 95k and I'm getting kinda worried about mine as well.
  8. Looks pretty highly optioned as well. Congrats. The only thing in my hunt that is keeping me away from the 2004-2008's is the PCM change in 2009. Love the interior color on that tho.
  9. As said above, could be your battery. Mine was old and a couple weeks after purchasing my CTT, the dashboard would lite up like a Christmas tree. Replaced the battery and boom, it all went off.
  10. So I would need a system tester to do the adaption? It also happens now under WOT.
  11. P1508 is the code it through. What code is that? Read it could be due to MAF. Any opinions?
  12. Driving down the highway at 75mph in the CTT and all of the sudden the car almost violently loses power and I have nothing when I hit the pedal, the car downshifts every gear to the redline and i pull over. The check engine light comes on. I turn the car on and off and have power and cruise away fine, CEL still on, then 5mls later the PSM light comes on. What is going on? Normally for some reason when I'm on longer highway drivers, the PSM light always comes on and stays on for a couple days then goes away. Why does it do this? Winters coming and I don't wanna be driving around with no traction control in the snow. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.
  13. Devastating. That would have been really cool! But I don't know if the RennSport name would go right with 911 purists
  14. There's a white black edition GTS "RS" on eBay right now.. Did they make an RS? Doesn't say on back of car or anywhere else, but the decals running the down the side say GTS RS.. Looks extremely factory. Never heard of one.. Anyone know??
  15. http://youtu.be/nZC3AGihsG0 What the hell is this.. drives me nuts. Not a clue what it is. Turn your sound up and excuse the starter noise
  16. Hey y'all, got some more questions... 1. My car clunks. Only when slowing down, and below 10 mph. It's a very audible sound. Sounds like something disconnecting from something. And I don't think that it happens on a downshift. And if also happens maybe 10% of the time. 2. My gearshifts from 2nd to 3rd are brutal under full acceleration, only in Manual. Like the car jumps and it also is very worrying. Doesn't really happen in auto mode. Any idea? Obviously it is tranny related, but would it is? Thanks.
  17. Wow they saw you coming!! $450 for a battery, over my dead body! I payed $130 for a decent one and have had no problems. But, like you before I pulled the battery I had a slew of problems, all smalls things. But they are all gone!
  18. I was considering but I'm looking to spend no more than 40k, I'm okay with higher miles which is why a couple of them fall within that 40k budget for the Facelifted cars. I have not found a Turbo S under 50k. That would be ideal though.
  19. Hey guys I drive a 2004 Cayenne Turbo with 90k on it and I am looking at new vehicles. I have decided I want another Cayenne, but can't decide if I want to get into a face lifted model for the extra money. I love the looks of the face lifted version but I am weary of other differences? Is there any noticeable performance gains from the 4.8 and 500hp? And is the ride any more controlled than in a 2003-2006 model? Just wanted to hear everyone options especially from face lifted owners!! Thanks.
  20. I drive a Cayenne Turbo, and had all the same symptoms you had with the remote, and wasn't too worried about because I had other problems, and I replaced my battery and boom everything started to work right. I would try that. It had done wonders for my CTT.
  21. Yes, it's a 2004 CTT. And I just replaced battery 3 months ago, as like you, had a whole mass of headache from a bad battery. And I only have one. I'll have the codes ran and go from there.
  22. This has happened a couple times.. I've been driving on the highway then boom PSM failure comes on and I lose power. I pull over turn off and restart the CTT and a check engine light comes on, I pull off and it goes off 5 mins later. Has happened three times, and only happens on the highway. And I don't really drive highway that much. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. Okay, that's what I figured, since that's what 99% of people say when they hear a grind. I just don't like scaring small children and passing dogs when I start my her up! Very annoying
