According to Sach's website, the K70193-01 is correct for your car. Suggest you visit their site and see for yourself: http://www.zf.com/media/media/document/int_print_catalogs_documents/usa_4/ZF_ClutchKit_Application.pdf Thanks for the link, I went to the Sachs site but all I found was the German manufacture content. This is one to keep. So by reading the parts index, I see the same kit is being used for the 986 and 987 up to 2008, including the Cayman 2.7? So does that mean that all 986 5 speed kits sold by Sachs automatically get the 987 clutch and pressure plate, or does that mean all the 2004-08 987 kits get a 986 kit? So why does everyone say changing to a 987 disk and plate is an upgrade?

So I have been doing some digging and have found two different part #s for the 987 5 speed clutch set, Sachs #K70424-01 and #K70193-01. Which one is a correct 987 5 speed for my 2001?

If memory serves, the 987 six speed disc is different that that of the 986. So the unit I was told was a 5 speed set, and that it would work in my 986 is actually a 6 speed set?

Working with a 2001 Boxster 2.7 5 speed. So I was told that I can put a 987 clutch in my 986, since I was replacing my clutch anyway, (see previous post), I went on a hunt for a 987 S clutch. I found a Sachs unit, part # K70290-01 which just arrived today, but by looking at it, I am not sure this is the right kit. Does anyone have any experience in this swap? Did I order the wrong kit? You can see from the pic that the friction disk and plate have obviously less surface material than the original unit, the bearing diameter on the new plate is different too, and the height is taller in the new one as well.
