Ah yes. Mine only have 39k on them. So yes 60k would not be an improvement. The corteco ones are more expensive. I think the Beck ones in that link are stock replacent and a OEM supplier.

Are these good quality motor engine mounts to retain stock feel? I want to keep them original. They look like a good deal? (Posted on Rennlist too)

Thanks Martini. That's what I was thinking too. Sounds like heat rising at stop lights and causing some plastic or metal popping from expansion.

Totally get that issue but it's just an idler pulley the stand off and the mounting bolt is the same. The ID of the bearing and the OD of the pulley with offset. Just saying. It's only an idler pulley.

Those seem so expensive for an idler pulley. Can't we source an idler pulley from another car, same size? I think I remember my idler pulleys for my mustang to be about $20 or less.

Interesting. I put the NGK laser OEM replacement iridiums in. Seem ok to me so far. 5,000 miles. Hey have a disc of iridium instead of a needle point and four ground electrodes. Similar to OEM.

How do you know that your cylinders are scored?  Nice to know that the heater core isn't as bad as some car's heater cores!

More info. Only occurs as the vehicle is coming up to temperature. Cold doesn't happen and completely warm it doesn't happen. This is leading me to believe some thermal expansion issue.

Possibly the windshield popping?

FYI, just changed oil 100 miles ago, no metal. I*S changed 3,500 miles ago incase people jumped right in that.

Typically I do my all my own work, but might be an option. It doesn't sound serious, but it is odd and random it seems.

I am thinking it might be thermal expansion as the car warms up and the hot coolant starts flowing to the cold 40 degree piping and radiators. I took a video and I will see if it is discernible and can post it.

No CEL. I don't think it's the engine at all.

So it's weird. I will drive and get the engine up to temperature. I will idle at a stop light and about 15 seconds later a slight pop occurs. Then a couple seconds later another pop. The pops are of different volume and seem to come from different places in or outside the car. I can't duplicate it when I pull into my garage to listen. Any clue?? Seems to only be present when the temp is below 50F or only time that I noticed?

Engine and exhaust are good. Plugs are new, just changed. Could are good. No misfiring. Doesn't sound like a misfire and is random and seems to possibly be cold contraction of body panels?

Sounds like it just pushed the coolant out. Fill again and take it up to temperature with the Porsche fill procedure. Then put the cap on correctly (sorry had to! )

I would say check the water pump.  See if there is any weeping or pull the serpentine belt and check the water pump pulley for play or noise.  Is this the low coolant light or the high temp light?

Well worked for me until I turned off the ignition and started it the next day.  I went through the procedure multiple different times, to no avail.  Seems others are having this issue?  Any fixes?

2002 C4S, Just went over 33,700. Bought it at 31,500 July 20, 2014. Turned the garage queen into a daily driver. So far I have replaced the clutch, throw out bearing, RMS, IMS (with Pelican, pre-emptive replacement, old bearing was just fine, no material in the oil filter), thermostat (LN low temp), Porsche water pump, ignition switch and upgraded to a 997 shifter (all maintenance DIY). It is now a daily driver and loving it. Spirited driving everyday. So hopefully I will be posting up here with some high mileage.

I had the same issue. The engine shifted to one side on the jack. Move the jack on its caster wheels to one side. Then try the other side as long as it's stable. That helped mine line up
