  1. Hi All,

My CD auto changer has not been part of the system since I got the car. Has aftermarket HU. The fibre cable is removed but the power plug is still there. I'm looking to remove the unit altogether but can't work out how the plug comes out. I could just snip the wires but would prefer not to. Any help appreciated

    Thanks Mike

  2. Hi guys

Just got my 2008 TT Cab back from the OPC after minor 6 year service (brake fluid, fuel filter, 4WD Oil change, poly rib belt change as extras). Car has done 23k miles.

Today the car has had a clunking as I set off in 1st when clutch let out, can feel a punch in the back sensation (and not the usual nice n scary one). The clunking continues if stay in 1st at low speed. seems more evident when the engine is warm and I was crawling in traffic.

Wondered if anyone had experienced similar?

I'll be back on the phone to the OPC tomorrow for certain!

    Cheers, Mike

  3. I have a leak of Pentosin coming from the reservoir under the bonnet next to the battery. When I've opened this it's filled beyond the MAX level, right up to the top.

In the engine compartment the level on the dipstick is just on the bottom of the stick below Cold without starting up. When the engine is warmed up it's not on the dipstick at all. Any ideas guys?

    Thanks, Mike

  4. Hi guys. I've recently noticed a whistling noise when accelerating on my 02 Turbo. Is this a normal sound to hear? I may be just being paranoid as I've noticed another noise (which is either tyres or wheel bearing) recently too. All help appreciated.

The gauge is reading 0.0 bar at 30mph when I first hear it, whistling gets louder the harder i accelerate.

    Thanks. Mike

  5. I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's on my 996 C4. They were cheaper than N rated tyres but they're not as good. They tend to feel less stable when cornering at speed compared to the P Zeroes I had before which would tend to support the sidewall strength theory.

On the plus side they seem to be lasting forever (in Porsche terms). 7,000 miles on the rears and still 5-6mm of tread, fronts have 7mm at 8,000 !!

Having said that I'll probably try Conti's next time around. Harder wearing than P Zeroes but still N rated. I'd spend the extra cash if I were you

  6. I have the following list of things needing fixing after coming back from the annual check at my OPC. How serious are these things, what should I be looking at first?

    Cam Cover Leaking Bank 2

    Coolant Leak Bank 2/Water Jacket

    Front Bottom Arm Bushes

RMS (dripping slighlty) - will wait until clutch goes, 56k miles but still no slippage. May already have had one at 34k?

    Thanks,

    Mike
