  1. I have a 2003 996 C4S that makes the "blowing across a coke bottle" sound from the vent hole behind the gas cap door. It happens at idle after the car is warmed up. There are no other symptoms. Doing some research, the vent hole is connected to the EVAP system. I hooked up durametric- no faults found. When the fuel filler flap is activated, the howling noise/ vacuum from the vent hole goes away. Found this Pelican article, but not sure if the is the problem.
