  1. I'm planning on swapping the standard exhaust on my 2003 TT at the weekend for a Techart one. Can anyone give me the torque settings I'm going to need especially for the studs on the turbos to the exhaust. Any wise words on things to do/not do when I'm working on it? I've looked at the jacking point threads so looks like it is ok to lift under the engine on the seam as shown in a photo - is this right? Thanks in advance
  2. Since the car has the integrated phone it doesn't look like it has this connector. Where would be the next best place to get power from? Thanks
  3. That's great thanks. Can you advise if I disconnect the power does the PCM2 head unit need a code to unlock once the power is reinstated or is it coded to the car so ok? There doesn't seem to be any note of a radio code with the car for it. Also do you know of anywhere easy to pick up permanent 12v and chassis near the rear of the head unit? I'm assuming that the connections marked A2, A4, A8 are the switched and permanent 12v and chassis in - but there might be somwhere easier to get 12v from? I'd like to say just how helpful this site has been and has answered so many questions I have had about my 996 TT.
  4. I would like to pick up some signals from the the rear of the PCM-2 head unit. Can some one point me to the pinouts for the connectors? I have had a search but can't see anything obvious. Thanks Nick
  5. Thanks Richard - that's a very useful document. All the best Nick
  6. The engine and tranmission codes are: M6970-644 G9650-10 Is there somewhere with a list of these codes or could someone tell me what they mean? Thanks Nick
  7. I found some useful info here in the end just in case anyone else needs to know. Also confirmed that my GT3 has the optical MOST bus connectors in the luggage compartment same place as normal. http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0...page=1&vc=1
  8. Can anyone advise how I can get it out? I'm thinking about fitting a Dension Ice Link 500 for iPod and I'd like to have a look at the MOST bus connectors etc on the rear of the head unit. Thanks Nick
  9. I've already worked out how to do it, I just need Porsche to deliver the PSE kit to my local dealer!
  10. That's essentially what I'm going to do with the switch - make it so I can have it on all the time and also switch it back to the factory opertation controlled by the sport button when I want to. This will give me 1) loud all the time 2) loud when in sport mode 3) quiet all selectable from inside the car. I'm waiting for the delivery of the PSE kit from m,y local dealer as they are on hold or delayed at the moment - anyone know anything about this?
  11. I want to remove the whole thing so that i can run some wiring to the location for the roof switch (assuming the car was a cab) which I'm going to use to disconnect the PSE so it can be loud all the time but switched back to normal operation, (controlled by the DME) when required. The car is a 2005MY (March 05) 997 S coupe. Nick
  12. Can anyone help by providing some info on how to do this? And then puting it back together again! Thanks Nick
  13. It's been suggested that it's possible to make the PSE operation switcheable to give more flexability on the operation regardless of selecting "sport", which is OK I can sort that out. The problem is where to put a switch? My cars got PASM and Chrono so I think that means there isn't a switch panel option under the lcd which adds a new switch with the exhaust symbol on it. Someone else suggested they had used the switch that opens and closes the soft top of the cab. Can anyone post a picture of where this switch goes and also the part number for it? Is this the best solution? Am I right in thinking that the switch panel is now supplied as a single unit and individual switches can't be retrofitted, the whole thing needs to be swapped? Thanks in advance Nick
