  1. Yeah I typo'd the channels/wattage, but thanks for the other info. I got the 6x40 amp installed and the new head unit in tonight. All seems to be working so far!
  2. Update: that connection must be factory as I got the original radio and amp to work.
  3. My car apparently had some aftermarket modifications done to it before I purchased it. Unfortunately the previous owner took most of the aftermarket items but left the crappy wiring. I've returned everything to stock, and the CR-220 radio lights up, but no sound comes from the speakers. I'm trying to track down the issue and I suspect it is related to the amp. The sound system fuse was blown (D9 location in the fuse box) so I've replaced that. In the picture, I'm pointing to where 4 small wires appear to be soldered into one wire that then connects to the yellow plug for the radio. Does this look correct? Would Porsche do something like this? The car is a 99 996 with the 6x40 M490 amp and door speakers.
  4. I'm amazingly confused with my car. It's a '99 996, CR-220 and M490 is on the option tag. Unfortunately the previous owner took out the original amp and possibly some other items I'm unaware of. I'm trying to get the car back to OEM but with an aftermarket head unit. Why are there two different amps labeled as M490? One says 4x40 and the other says 4x60. Will either work? Is there a way to tell which my car originally came with?
  5. Old thread bump. Who is this Harvey fellow that has the wires and how do I get in contact with him?
