Hi, I need to change my iginition coils and spark plugs on my Cayenne S E2 92A (2011 model). Can someone assist on parts I could purchsae on ebay (and brand) and the service manual for this repair. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Porsche people I changed the spark plugs of my 955 CTT yesterday and I think the plug on cylinder 6 is not as the others. For me it does not show a realy scary image, and I'm sure it is not urgent but can you see something more?
RevMatcher posted a topic in 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa)2002 911 C2 Coupe I'm having the classic misfire on cylinder 1 when the car is wet. I used contact cleaner on the ignition wire plug into the coil and it works fine for now. I/m sure when it gets rained on it will misfire again. Already replaced spark plugs. I discovered there is a tear in the little orange gasket (green arrow in photo) on the ignition wire connector and water is getting in there when it rains. Anybody know where I can find a replacement without buying a new $812 engine wiring harness? Thanks Tom
I would like to replace my spark plugs and water pump because it costs so much for a shop to do it. With that out of the way, is it easy to remove the muffler and rear bumber so that I can get an easier access to the plugs and water pump?
Hello Members, Just found some instructions for changing spark plugs without having to remove the rear bumper/license plate light, and intercoolers. The process is more or less - remove rear wheels, and then remove various heat shields - does this seem viable? These two tool sets make changing coils and spark plugs much easier. 1. Kobalt "24 piece right angle bit driver set. #0338552" SKU #09919852324 2. Service Kits "3 piece spark plug service kit #41740" The small ratcheting handle in the driver kit allows you to remove the coil bolts with a lot less aggravation. The magnetic spark plug sockets are permanently attached to the extensions so you don't lose them in the plug wells. And the short extensions are perfect for the job.
Hi all! Many months ago I had a problem with the MAF shutting down the engine/staffing it on startup (tried cleaning it no luck). I disconnected the MAF and it ran fine on the default values, just burning more fuel. Now its time to get my emissions test so I bit the bullet and bought a new Bosch MAF. I installed the MAF, and the durametric software cleared the fault codes and the new MAF is giving off normal values hovering around 10-13 on car idle. The issue I am having is that I am receiving multiple misfires on all the cylinders through the Durametric software when the new MAF is connected. When I disconnect the mass airflow sensor I obviously get a check engine light, but I get 0 misfires on any of the cylinders. I know that the maf is brand-new and is putting out valid values so I don't think that is the problem. The car is about 9 years old as it is a 2005 base Boxster 2.7 L engine and has never had its spark plugs coils for replaced (old owner was an idiot!). The car has 83,000 km on it. My initial guess is that the spark plugs need to be replaced or potentially the coil packs. Is this assumption correct? Two other items to take into account is that the old MAF was covered in oil and there was a small puddle of oil in the intake system/velum. Also when the mass airflow sensor was disconnected the engine would start obviously a little rougher but there was a plume of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Now that the sensor is replaced, the white smoke has disappeared. I thought that this may have been up potential AOS problem, but maybe it was just an issue with airflow sensor in disconnected. The other item to take into account is that I have a constant issue with the cooling system flushing the coolant out of the car (near the right rear wheel) when I shut off the engine I checked the coolant tank and it appears to be fine with no cracks but I was told that it may be the coolant CAP Issue - not sure how a coolant cap makes a difference, but this is what I was told. I have not investigated this issue yet as I'm trying to deal with the codes that are generating the misfires now (priority as I need to pass the emissions test) that I replace the mass airflow sensor which I am assuming once again that it may just be spark plugs and or the coils. What do you think? Any help is much appreciated!

I've popped just the plugs in so far and put some anti-seize. Should I pull them and take it off. I've read mixed reviews on this. I also ordered new ignition coils. Do the coil tubes come pre-lubed with grease? If not, should I add some? Thanks
I bought my 2007 C4S 997 as a CPO almost two years ago (at 16,100 miles) . The time for 'scheduled maintenance needed' is ticking down and I've determined from the dealer that it has had two 'minor' maintenances but never a 'major' maintenance done. I changed the oil 6 months ago and checked the brakes which are fine. Car now has 24,500 miles on it. How necessary is it to bring my car into the dealer for the 'major' maintenance? Can I just have my local indy shop do some of them? Researching the scheduled maintenance book and online, it seems that what I need for major maintenance is: changing brake fluid replacing air filter replacing particle filter cleaning out radiator ducts changing spark plugs The indy dealer said the spark plug replacement is not necessary at 24,500 miles. Is this true? What about drive belt or anything else? Unfortunately, my nearest dealer is over an hour away and they did not do a very good job with some minor warranty work that was needed. I've heard they will charge about $1500 for the major maintenance but my local guy will be a lot cheaper. On the other hand, I don't want to damage my car if the above items seem a little to much for a local, non-Porsche maintenance guy to do... Any thoughts? general maintenance intervals.pdf
hello all i cannot find bosch oem spark plugs in my country only in dealer and he is charging alot 420 dollars foR set of 8 . my cheaper option is BKR6EIX 150 DOLLARS . NOW THE PROPKLEM IS I FOUND ONLY BKR6EIX-11 THE DIFFRENCE IS THE GAP ONLY AS THE MECHANIC SAID SO SHOULD I BUY BKR6EIX-11 AND REGAP CARFULLY FOR MY CAYENNE S PLEASE HELP......
