hello , i want to replace the brake pads on front and rear of my Cayenne 958 diesel 6/2012 Whit the black calipers , i have already order the parts , but i have some questions , The front calipers bolted whit to big bolts part number WHT 004 571 they told me to renew them to , but how tight do a have to fastened these bolts in newton . also the rear main caliper bolts needs to be replaced part number N 911 837 01 how tight must these ? but i cant find out how to chance those rear pads , the car have also electronic parking brakes but someone tels me that the car needs on the diagnose computer to chanche the rear pads (aka VW ) , but i find this strange , i tested wit a piece of paper between pad and disc and activate the parking brake result the paper was not holding tight between pad and disc and feld down. because of this i think there are internal brake shoes inside the disc is this correct ? any technical help whil be helpful thanks in advance . or any exploded view .pdf part numbers : front pads 958 351 939 , warn contact 958 612 356 00 , caliper clips 970 351 959 00 Bolt front caliper WHT 004 571 , Rear Pads 958 352 939 00 , bolt N 911 837 01 , caliper clips 7PP 615 269 , warn contact 958 612 365 50 see pictures
Hi all,I know that there has been a lot of talk regarding fitting rear speakers to a 981 Boxster . I have a 2014 GTS with sound system plus and I am very keen to add speakers behind the seats to fill in the sound. Is there a way of either enabling the fader on the PCM and then wiring the rear speakers to the amplifier under the seat ? Alternatively,connecting the rear speakers with a resistor of 16 ohms in parallel with the front speakers?
hey guys , past couple months my cayenne s 04 air suspension warning light has been on, after a minute of driving. when i try lowing or raising the vehicle, the front end works fine but the rear suspension stay stationery in raise mode. even when using the diagnostic to force the rear to lower nothing happens .fault codes in the level control system was for rear suspension holding valve . so i went ahead and replaced both rear holding valve and recalibrate the suspension. it worked fine for two months .now the warning light is back the rear suspension is stuck in high and not lowing. new fault codes p1780 , 1400 im unsure what to do. do i replace the valve again or is there some else wrong what do you guys think?
mike_85142 posted a topic in 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa)This just started - When you turn the key to start the vehicle, there is a noise (hum) from the sub-woofer that's stays on until the starter cranks. When the car starts, everything related to the radio is normal, but the LED on the Rear Defroster switch stays on all of the time. I was told the Rear Defroster relay is bad so I purchase a replacement. I'm having a problem locating this relay. Is it located under the dash or behind the rear seat? Which relay is it?
Hi, I've recently obtained a Bose rear subwoofer deck for my 03 986 Boxster and like to get feedback as to the easiest way to connect to my CDR-23 with Haes 6chan amp (with MOST). Anyone done this, can it be done? Help much appreciate.
Hi, I need to change the rear pads on my 2004 2.7 The question is do I pay for Original Porsche parts or go with an alternative? If I go with an alternative, which ones? I am just a standard diver, no track days. Just everyday use. Thanks for the help.
So, the 996 doesn't have any fender liners in the rear portion of the rear wheel arches. It hasn't really been a problem, except for winter driving. Slush and show is thrown on the hot mufflers and burn off when you stop at intersections. I kinda think it's cool with smoke billowing out from the rear arches, others think the car is on fire... Either way, with a new exhaust system a new potential problem occurred, check the vid: That's after about two weeks of driving. Those mufflers used to be shiny stainless steel. The mufflers themselves can take a bit of dirt but I'm worried about the valves, it looks like that piston might pull a lot of dirt into the vacuum actuator. Does Porsche do any tricks to protect the valves on the PSE exhaust or is there some sort of aftermarket rear-rear fender liner one can buy? Tips appreciated.
