I recently did a suspension overhaul when I replaced my inner CV joints out of necessity. Problem I am having is they cannot align it properly. Because of the lowered suspension and change in geometry the rear toe in is more than it should be. I have ordered a pair of rear control arms from TRS to allow for adjusting toe, hopefully. So now I am looking to replace the Meghan racing tie rods with something that will allow for greater adjustment for proper alignment of the front end. Does anyone have an experience/insight into this type of setup for the street? Can anyone recommend outer tie rod
Hi all, Recently purchased a used 2000 boxster S. Its almost 100% stock apart from being on H&R lowering springs (photos). The height is a bit annoying seeing as my driveway is akin to Mt Everest and as a result of the lower height the camber on the back is slightly out (and camber wear on tires). Are the non S model springs the same? or close enough? Im sure they're not, but someone is selling a complete 1998 set on the New Zealand version of eBay (trademe) for the equivalent of about $70 so its hard to pass up. Any info would be great.
Hi, I am planning to put back the original OEM front and rear coil springs, because I don't like the H&R springs that the previous owner of my boxster S had put in. How hard is it to do this ? I already did the same job on my 2002 Civic. Will it be the same level of difficulty ? For the tools, I had to rent a coil spring compressor from the auto-store and thats about it. All other tools I had. When I looked at the Porsche Service Manual, I was a bit scared on all the procedure. Should I expect a lot of surprises? Thanks!
MY 99 C2 sits over 3/4 inch lower in the rear than front when measured from level ground to top of wheel well with consistent tire pressure. Assuming this is the correct way to measure, is this an indication that the rear springs are tired and need replaced? I presume the car should sit level with new springs?. Car appears to be aligned properly although I have not had it aligned in the 2 years I've owned the vehicle.
