I own a '05 997 S and the driver's side floormat is completely worn down where the right heel contacts the floor. The car is well within warranty and the floormats are the Porsche originals that came with the car when new. I know this may sound picky (cheap?) but so what - the floormats are obviously cheap.

P.S.

Makes you wonder if perhaps the right heel mark in the carpet correlates to how much fun it is to flat out, as much as possible, in a particular car?

Sounds like excessive wear in a 1-2 yr car. You should be able to get it under warranty. If not, try another dealer.

I'd find out what causes this (shoes with tabs on heels or something) after new mats. I think these are ~$150 but you can order from Llyod with a border design or script of your choice if you are paying for it.

I prefer all-weather mats. I ordered a set from Lloyds called rubbertite http://www.lloydmats.com/rubbertite.htm. They're custom cut and fit perfectly.
