Hello everybody and compliments for the forum!

I'm new here and I hope thanks to your experience to find an answer to the following question about 997 which I don't own yet:

Does anybody know if the front part of the dashboard (I mean the one which embraces the instrument panel, central and side air vent) is a separate parte as it seems looking at it or it's a big whole part till the windscreen?

The aim of my question is to understand if it's possible to remove just this smaller part in order to cover it with an alcantara upholstery.

Thanks in advance

Fon

Hi,

The dealer told me that there is a lot of work in removing the dials.

I also read a report that a guy had this done and then could not get

rid of a rattle noise.

Yes, the whole upper part of the dash has to come out to get to the instrument cluster.

To get to the instrument cluster you only need to pull on the trim piece right below the cluster and then remove two torx screws. (Adjust the steering column all the way down and out first) Then just pull the cluster stright forward and then to the left (or right) to clear the steering wheel once the plug in the back has been disconnected.

Sorry Loren, I am replying based on wanting just the cluster out.
