Brake Upgrade - Boxster

Recommended Posts

Looking to upgrade the front brakes on a 987 Boxster. Does anyone know an easy route to upgrade to Boxster S brakes? Are the hubs the same between Boxster and Boxster S? Are the calipers the same, same piston sizes? Could one be so lucky to only need Boxster S rotors and S caliper mounts? tks

987 2.7 uses the 986 brake caliper pt no 986 351 421 03. The S version uses the 996 brake caliper part no 996 351 431 30 due to the disk being both wider and thicker than the standard 987. The S version of the 986 also uses the same 996 caliper and disk as the the newer 987 S. The front hubs between the 2.7 and S appear to be common on the 987 as there are no alternatives for model types. Therfore it suggests if you fit the correct caliper and disk combination you should achieve compatability.
