Intermittent - Litronic Headlight

Hi Renntech,

I'm new...many posts on PP. I'm trying to help a friend (Sandy) she has a 96 993 C4 has HID Litronic lights.

One of the lights operates intermittent. Don Wise took a look at it and in the process, I guess, unplugged some connections/etc. and it worked for a few weeks but said the "module" was bad. We thought it could have been just a loose connection that got loose again.

Before I burn up peoples time I'm getting a picture of the headlight so we can be sure of what light option is on the car.... but I'm thinking it is Litronic...maybe there is more than one type of Litronic light option, I don't know.

It seems the cost of a new "module" is fairly high ($600+). If the "module" is bad are there alternatives to buying a new OEM part? Does anyone repair these? What is the part number of the "module"? Also can we do some more diagnosing to confirm the failed part(s)?

Thanks for any help..I tried on PP forum and got some responses.

Module is ok, either it works or it doesn't.

If it is intermittent, it is the connection. Next time the light goes off, do not dismantle, just slap the headlight until it works and leave it this way. It is definitely loose.

Thank you...I sent a message to Sandy and we will puts efforts into finding the bad connection(s).
