Wannabe looking at 01 or 02 TT what to look out for?

I have been shopping for a 993/996TT for over a year, finally found one that was just right, I bought a '01 with low 20k miles, I had it PPI'd by 2 seperate PCA friendly Porsche dealers and checked out by some close friends (out of town buy). I paid low $60's including delivery, I found the initial ad for $78k. I absolutely love this car. You might as well figure in a 30k service as well, they will swap out the plugs for the new version as well as fluid changes and maybe brake pads. Costs vary, but the average seems to be around $1k for a 30k service. I also did a carfax, but would use that as a collaborative info, if something there is fishy and the PPI shows some problems, walk, no run away and shop around for another. eBay isnt bad, but be VERY cautious and do the financial/title transaction in person to save some potential pain. I found mine on Auto Trader and had a trusted friend do the transaction for me.

I think my best advice is to be patient, which is easier said that done, but it really paid off for me shopping and waiting for the "right one".

'01 996 turbo

I just sold my Porsche and thinking about a used TT with 20k to 30k miles on it? :clapping: Any advice is welcome. Oh, and how much should I expect to pay? :help:

Thanks, Tony

Thanks Deepblue,

I drove another today and it drove great..it was a very dark blue...it looked black..I think it was "midnite blue".

I like sthe widebody look and it's got plenty of power..(more than the Viper I think) but luckily I opened the front trunk...very little room.

Too bad, I would like something usable...I may have to go to a skinny body.

Looks like the TT is just a toy??

Congrats on your find..I guess yours is dark blue also...by your screen name? Which blue is it? How bout a pic?

Tony
