2001 Boxster S (US) - stock

Now I noticed the interesting thread about headlight assemblies, (http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=11457) , and wanted to warn you that my question is just lame in comparison and I feel very inadequate asking this, so please be kind....

I replaced a low beam bulb the other day and parked 4 or so feet from a fence. The focal point or strongest concentration of light is approximately 2.5-3 feet higher than the other untouched headlight's beam (the factory bulbs and assembly). Yes, almost 3 feet. Also, it is driving me crazy when I pull behind another vehicle and notice that one headlight is higher and brighter. It's driving me nutz. I know the bightness is due to a different bulb type or newer filament, but it is sooooo different that once I figure out why it is higher, I will probably replace the other one to match.

I triple checked the placement of the entire housing and made sure it was locked in place. Unlike other vehicles I owned, I don't see any way to aim the headlights.

Is there something I can look at inside the housing?

Glad you got it sorted out. I read your post but couldn't think of anything. Simply replacing a bulb then the light is totally off is pretty bizzare. Goes to show you, be careful when putting the new bulbs in as you don't wanna get anything inside the light hole or under the bulb.

A small change of angle on the bulb is a large change once it's shining down the road.
