Last weekend I was in NY and parked my car in a parking garage. The parking attendant was trying to pull out of a spot and hit the curb with the right rear wheel and ripped some of the rubber off the tire and left a bad curb rash on my wheel. I'm supposed to talk to the manager tomorrow, since there was no manager on the spot at the time. Any one have any experience like this? I'm really confused on how to deal with this. Any advice would be helpful.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I frequently take my Boxster to Manhattan, but don't park in garages. I refuse to pay to park. I'm lucky enough to find spaces in the residential areas and have never had a problem parking on the street (I just jinxed myself.)

If you have no luck with the manager, querry your insurance policy's comprehensive coverage.

From what I understand, most parking garages or facilities are required to have insurance upto $25k for damages, theft and etc unless otherwise posted. If it's a big firm such as ultra park, kinney, and etc. You shouldn't have a problem, just insist to take it to the dealer and document everything. A garage on 54th dented the rear door of my M5 and it costed them $13k at the dealership, which they pay for completely.
