PCCB & 18" Winter Rims?

Recommended Posts

I have the ceramic brakes on my 997C2S and will be ordering winter tires and rims. My dealer tells me that 18" rims will fit and he confirmed this with PCNA when I expressed doubt. Is he right? I still have my doubts based on the size of my rotors and some comments made by other Porsche owners. Does anyone have definitive guidance? :help:

Why the worry? PCNA confirms it and have the dealer mount tires on the rims and wheels on the car.

They should fit... The brakes on the S are the same size at the brakes on the non-S and they come standard with 18s.

The PCCBs aren't any bigger that the stock brakes, just composite.

You could still get winter 19s... They are available, I just installed a set for our M6 Convertible...

...keep your stock rims and throw on new rubber.

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered the 18" rims.

I have a 2005 C2S which I drive year-round. I have used the 18 inch winter package without problems. I agree -- having extra rubber is safer in winter -- better protection from potholes and hidden curbs. There will be no fitment problems with the PCCB. In deep snow, you may get buildup around the larger caliper.

I've enjoyed driving this car in the snow. It's very tossable. Try turning off the PSM in an empty parking lot. You'll turn very tight doughnuts!!
