Hi,

Has anyone installed a front strut brace in there 997? Did

you have to replace the battery with a smaller one? Does

the brace run over the top of the battery and you would

remove the barce to remove the battery. Did you have to grind

any of the plastic trim pieces to fit the brace.

Paul

Paul, I have a Racing Dynamics strut brace on my 987S. It was a simple bolt-on procedure. No changes to the battery. Brace goes in front of the battery. You may need to re-position the battery.

Work on level ground. Dry fit first. Then remove 2 of the 3 bolts per side. Install and tighten everything up.

Make sure you don't over-torque the strut bolts. I think they are 26 ft/pounds.

Hi,

I posted the link. Seems a little pricey. Looks

like it will work fine.

Thanks,

Paul

It's quite straight forward to install a front strut brace in front. No need to change battery or to grind any of the plastic trim. In back its a lot more work to do, especially if you have the Bose system installed. Then you have to cut in some aluminum brackets to get it installed and its very tight on space.

Some people says it won't help because the 997 is so stiff originally, but I think it doesn't make it worse either.
