I am considering to make a general upgrade on my audio system. I currently only have the standard 4 speaker system, i.e. no door speakers, only in dash and in the rear seat, and no amp, so I guess everything will be an improvement. I think to replace the dash and rear seat speakers with 2-komponent speakers from either DLS or MB Quart, I only have to figure out where to place the crossovers. I guess there is no place beneath the speaker. And then I am looking for placing a 4-ch amp in the front trunk compartment, in the small pocket between the front wheel and the front differential (C4), and re-use the std CDR22 for the factory finish. However, I noticed that the Bose system on the 997 had a very nice subwoofer fitted behind the rear seats. Have anyone tried to do something similar on the 996 ? maybee the 997 subwoofer fits ? this looked realy nice.

I am in the middle of upgrading the speakers on my Boxster and I can tell you that the MB Quart speakers are really nice (I got the Q-series), very high quality. They look like works of art. However, the crossovers are huge. I haven't yet figured out where I'm going to put the crossovers. I am hoping to fit them behind the dash somewhere.

There are some preliminary details here:

I will post more when I am done.
