Jack stands under 997S?

Recommended Posts

Hello Fellas,

I would like to replace the chin lip spoiler on Aero Kit 997S and was wondering if it was possible to use a floor jack under front lift point and find a place to install jackstands? Are the lift points the only place to support or lift front end?

Cheers

Sorry fellas should have done the search first-found a great thread that expained everything-have to jack back lift point and place stand under front lift point :jump:

you need stands ?!

I replaced mine last week - there is ony one plastic rivet per side, near the wheel arch that pulls out vertically downwards;

the lip then just pulls off, pulling outwards all along. Start at each side & work in to the centre.

took me about 10 mins to R&R.

I now have the black GT3 lip on a red aerokit

Thanks David,

I thought while I was at it I would replace front forward fender well.

Seems that I must have torn that little rubber flap off some how :( . That black lip

would look great on a red car.

Cheers,

Kurt

Hi Kurt - I see now !

best way I've found to jack the car is to raise the car with a jack at the rear side lift point; the chassis is so stiff the front will come up too & you can then get a stand fitted to the front side lift point. Repeat on the other side & the front of the car is in the air.
