Rear speaker wiring thru firewall

One of our guys just did this on a 2003. I have not seen it but I think he routed the cable the way we do it for a cd cahnger.

Remove the battery clamp and the negative cable. Slide your battery over to the passenger side. You will see a large rubber gromet behind the battery. Stick an ice pick in the middle of the gromet then look inside the car above the gas pedal. You run the harness through this gromet.

Then you need to get the cable into the trunk. Pull back the carpet where the cd changer goes and you will see another large gromet. Poke a hole and run it through that gromet. Jeff

I done this a couple of months back on my 03 S.

When you remove the battery from the tray, you will see to large black grommets against the 'firewall'. One of them is essentially a blanking grommet, I decided to use that one, and then I cut a very small slit in it, to run the cable through using some sort of pushrod device. (I used long piece of plastic tube, to avoid any danger to electrics etc).

The pipe will appear from behind the dash depending on which direction you target when pushing through.

Hope this helps
