Airflow Control Problem

On my '99 Carrera, if recently noticed when I start the car up, most or all of the airflow seems to come from the footwells. After a few seconds, the airflow ceases from the footwell and comes out the vents as normal. The climate setting is Auto with the a/c off and the fan on manuell at +/- level 2.

Is the system vacuum controlled? Would this indicate a vacuum leak of some kind?

Have you recently performed the "remove the clutch helper spring" mod? If yes, check the duct you remove to access the spring.

Although the Climate control is not on auto, it will not blow warm air into your face or upper body from the center and side vents cause the water temp hasnt risen high enough to heat the heater-core enough to blow air that is warmer than what is displayed on the climate control display, yet. Does it eventually come out the upper vents once you've been on your way awhile? if so, its normal. I like it, Its better than getting in your car on a cold morning and the vents blasting you with cold air until the air gradually warms.
