Porsche uses 2 styles of wheel locks. The new style started on the Cayenne, then went over to the 987/997. I call this the new style. Your 997 came with the new style. However, if these are Porsche wheel spacers, don't know if your spacers came with the old or new style.

McGard makes the old style, but they are not listed on their site. The parts guy at my local dealer told me than when they order an old style wheel lock they actually order it from McGard. The new style is ordered from Porsche, but McGard could be making it as well for all I know.

If your spacers have the old style then I do not know how or if you could order it from McGard. There were 30 different old style locks. The key came in a plastic bag with a white stidker on it. The sticker had 2 digits, which I guess is something like a part number. Some time ago someone on a message board said they were able to buy the old style from McGard.

This is the new style.

Hi Tool Pants,

I have the new locks and the spacers have the

new locks. Enclosed are two pictures of the wheel locks

for the original studs.

Thanks again for your research and this is what makes

RennTech such a good site!!!

That is the new style.

I do not know where you can buy an extra other than a dealer. As I said, the old style came from McGard but the parts guy said he gets the new style from Porsche. I'll ask around, but don't hold your breath.

Hi Tool Pants,

Looks like you have a good asortment. Want

to sell any? Just kidding!

I will keep looking. I had this bad dream tha I left

my wheel lock in the dirt at a times trial event. I just

hope it's a dream.

Was talking to a mechanic today and he had the old style master key set out as he needed to remove a 986 wheels for a brake pad and rotor change.

It even says on the label to call McGard for a replacement key. Tempted to call 1-800-699-8788 just to see who answers.

Forgot to ask about the new style.
