How do you get through the firewall?

I'm trying the Dension install on my 2007 987S.

How do you get through the firewall from the battery area to inside the cabin? Anyone done this?

To the right of the battery, on the firewall, is a rubber plug. Cut an X in it and pass the wires through.

I had the dealer do my install ( was worried about warranty issues ) and we decided that the ipod didn't need to be inside the car ... I bought a second ipod to use on my boat & when travelling, at home etc., so the ipod in the Porsche resides right next to the cd changer & is only accessed when I need to do a sync to update. This has worked out fine & was a much easier install.

I'm installing the bluetooth interface and leaving the mic in the trunk would make for awkward phone calling, to say the least.

I went through the rubber grommet that Loren specified when I need to run wires to the front, should not be a warranty issue either.

BTW, post back when you get the Dension installed, I would like to know what the sound quality is like... Is this with or without a PCM system?

Worked like a charm. I had read elsewhere you needed to remove the battery, but you really don't. If you have a fish tape (standard electricians' tool), it is a piece of cake. A bent wire hanger might even work.
